Everything in Canada is big!  The size of the country, a colossal 10 million square kilometres, makes it the world’s second-largest country, while mammoth mountains, enormous glaciers and immense polychromatic skies continue the theme.  Not forgetting of course Canada’s fabulous wildlife, the reason many travellers choose to visit, for spotting giant creatures such as the grizzly bear, moose, polar bear or humpback whale is certainly a memory worth making. 

If festival-packed cities like Toronto and Montreal, which offer the world’s best quality of life, don’t appeal, then take a double dose of history in St John’s, Newfoundland, which is North America’s oldest city.  Not enamored with the prospect of hiking, skiing or snowboarding over the cloud-poking mountains of Banff and Jasper National Parks?  Then sample a gentle ride instead through the wheat-waving prairies of Saskatchewan.
