What does the Tour Leader do?

Your Tour Leader is on hand throughout your holiday and in most cases will travel with the group from the airport. So much more than just an organizer, your Tour Leader will act as a great host, ensuring that everyone gets the most out of their holiday.

Will everyone in my group be the same age as me?

Solo's is unique in that it dedicates departure dates to specific age ranges as follows:
25 - 45 years
30-59 years
45+
But on long haul holidays and many activity holidays all ages are combined.

Will there be other people travelling for the first

time in my group ?

Look out for our newcomers departures, where all your fellow travellers will be travelling with Solo's for the first time. On every other departure there is generally a good mix of people who have travelled with Solo's before and those travelling for the first time. Your Tour Leader is always on hand to ensure that everyone quickly gets to know each other and enjoys the holiday as much as possible.

How many people will be on my holiday?

Normally around 15-25 people but this of course may vary with the type of holiday.

Will there be an activity schedule arranged?

This depends on the nature of the holiday you have booked. For example on an activity or golf holiday: events will be arranged at fixed times, but there is no pressure to attend. On a Sun and Sand holiday the schedule is more flexible and the Tour Leader will try to tailor make activities to suit the interests of the group.

Do I have to share a bedroom?

No. All of our holidays are based on a single room with private facilities and most holidays have no single supplement. However, we occasionally offer an optional reduction for rooms with shared facilities, or for the option to twin share. If it is not possible to match even numbers for twin share, the last person booked irrespective of gender will be allocated a single room at full price.

Is it better to book early?

Yes! All airlines insist that we adhere to strict deadlines for releasing any unsold seats back to the airline; this deadline is normally 2 months before the departure date of the holiday. This means that if you leave your booking until close to the departure date, it is sometimes impossible to obtain a seat for you on the group flight or at the group fare.

This can also be the case if we have sold all of our original allocation. In either case it may mean additional costs for either the flight or for an individual transfer on top of the published price of the holiday. When embarking on a land only holiday, booking early can help you secure the best available flight prices whether we buys the flights for you or when you arrange your own flights.

We therefore strongly recommend that you book your holiday preferably more than 8 weeks before the departure date. We understand that this is not always possible and therefore our team will be happy to book you the best alternative available.
