Pine-clad, hilly Zakynthos – also dubbed ‘Zante’ – has long been linked with Artemis, the goddess of hunting. Take your turn and seek out a host of surprises around this green island, ringed by sunny, sandy beaches and aquamarine seas. A dip below the surface amid reefs and underwater caves might reveal curious loggerhead turtles (the Carreta Carreta… so good, they named it twice).

Head for the Bells
Luckily, you won’t find turtles on the menu. This is your chance to sample tzatziki in Tsilivi – try saying that after an ouzo or three!
