Newcomers

Your First Time

Travelling solo for the first time needn’t be a daunting experience. In fact, our customers often tell us how they wish they had discovered Solos sooner but were initially apprehensive about being a single traveller. The beauty of Solos is that you are travelling as part of a group of sociable individuals who share a passion for travel and perhaps even a hobby or a favourite sport.

Our friendly Reservations staff will be delighted to talk through any concerns you might have. Many of them have travelled widely and have worked for us for many years, so they know exactly the type of questions you may have when you consider travelling with us for the first time. Lots of our customers have been with us several times over the years, which is why Solos is considered as more of a community, than just another holiday company, and we look forward to welcoming you. You can even get in touch with other newcomers, and be encouraged by regular Solos customers who are keen to offer their support and
advice, by visiting the Solos Forum

I had been happily married for forty years when my husband passed away suddenly. When we first married we wanted to travel the world, but quickly put these thoughts on the back burner once we had our daughters and enjoyed many family camping and villa holidays in Spain. When our grandchildren were born, we took them along too...

After years of independent travel, my first Solos holiday was a great success…

As a geology lecturer, I consider myself quite an intrepid explorer. Through my work I have camped out in some pretty harsh environments, including six weeks in the desert in Chile, and I had always been comfortable travelling alone. Despite having visited these glamorous locations, I craved a simple holiday with good company...
