About this holiday
Join us for a fun-packed Solos 60s weekend. Take in the sights of historic Liverpool along with a visit to 'The Beatles Story', where musical magic is relived on an atmospheric journey into the life, times, culture and music of the Fab Four.
We meet on Friday for a welcome drink and a leisurely evening meal, before our light-hearted after-dinner 60s quiz to set the scene for the weekend ahead.
After a hearty breakfast, we depart by coach to central Liverpool and head to the historic Albert Dock, the first of 2 sites home to the 'The Beatles Story'. Discover how 4 young Scousers were propelled to the dizzy heights of worldwide fame and fortune to become arguably the greatest band of all time. Hear the story unfold through the 'Living History' audio guide, narrated by John Lennon's sister, whilst admiring original instruments and memorabilia.
It's then a short walk to 'The Beatles Story' Pier Head, the second site close to the Royal Liver Building. Based in a state-of-the-art theatre the Fab4D experience takes us on a groovy trip through the music of The Beatles. You'll meet all manner of characters as the magic of 4D brings the music of the greatest band of all time to life.
After our visit, perhaps pose for a photo outside the famous Cavern Club or take a scenic ferry across the Mersey. Feeling in the mood for a cultural afternoon? Why not head to the Tate Gallery or the area around William Brown Street, known as the city's 'Cultural Quarter', or simply hit the city's numerous shops and boutiques? Later we can dance the night away at our 60s-themed dinner dance.
