Join us this Winter on a Solos Costa Blanca week away. We stay in the ever popular resort of Benidorm on the eastern coast of Spain. Once a tiny fishing village until the 1960s, it’s now one of the most famous and popular Mediterranean holiday destinations, known for its two wide sandy beaches, lined with palm-lined promenades, bars and nightlife.
Extras
Popular with British holidaymakers for many years, Benidorm is an exciting year-round resort. Our hotel is just a 15 minute walk to Levante Beach and seafront promenade and a short bus ride to the Old Town. The streets around our hotel are full of shops, bars and restaurants, plenty to keep us entertained.
The Melia Benidorm is situated in Rincón de Loix, the newest and most modern part of Benidorm and right next door to the commercial centre of Benidorm – Levante Beach – a 10-15 minute walk away. This area offers a range of shops, bars and restaurants, along with a stretch of sandy beach. Our hotel will provide a peaceful, tropical inspired base to explore the resort’s lively atmosphere.
Time away from the hotel and resort is also on offer, with plenty to see on a day out. Why not visit Guadalest’s thousand-plus years of history with a visit to the cliff-top village, or take in the highlights of the city of Valencia and its museums and markets? Or closer to our hotel, simply wander the streets of Benidorm’s old town with its quaint shops and cafes.

Casual, cotton, lightweight daytime wear is the order of the day. Comfortable shoes are a must for sightseeing. Smart casual clothes will be ideal for the evening, with the emphasis throughout being informal but with no shorts or vests in the restaurants in the evenings. Early and late season evenings can be cool so do ensure that you take a cardigan or jacket and even some rainwear.
The Tour Leader will be on hand to offer advice or suggestions if required but gratuities are offered entirely at the sole discretion of the individual.
We suggest a group collection at the end of your holiday to cover drivers, guides, porters and hotel staff (including restaurant, kitchen and reception staff) of approximately €20. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of bar staff and housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (the rounding up of the drinks bill and a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated).
As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, restaurants expect a gratuity (do check that service has not already been added to your bill). For taxis 10% of the metered fare.
