About this holiday

The hills are still alive in Austria! If you are looking for picture perfect scenery and fresh mountain air, Austria ticks the boxes. We are based in the charming and friendly Austrian resort of Kirchberg, nestled in a glorious setting in the heart of the beautiful Kitzbüheler Alps.

Our programme of 4 walks includes:

Gaisberg Summit

This challenging, but beautiful walk starts at the top station of Gaisberg chairlift. Here, we walk uphill to Barstattalm from where we take the mountain path up to the Gaisberg Summit – the views are stupendous! We traverse a ridge and follow a short steep path down over the Nagiller track back to the chairlift – from where you can either walk back, or take a ride if the calves have had enough!

Starting from Ebenau, this walk takes us through wonderful Tirol countryside. We pass by a waterfall and then walk along forest paths until we reach the Labalm mountain cabin. Enroute, its worth stopping at the “Kasplatzl” to see how the traditional mountain cheese that the area is renowned for is made. Enjoy some spectacular scenery as we stop for lunch before returning to Ebenau

We take a trail through the woods to the “Bergschenk Krin” mountain restaurant where you can enjoy a quick coffee and cake stop, before continuing on to the top of the Ehrenbachhöhe mountain at 1880m above sea level - the views from here are spectacular. Our return to Kirchberg takes us through pine forests and over the resort’s ski slopes now wonderfully peaceful, apart from the occasional chime of an Alpine cowbell.
On your free days, there are plenty of other trails to explore, or perhaps take the bus to nearby Kitzbuhel with its beautiful medieval town centre crammed with shops and restaurants.
