As the Tour Leader of our ClubSolos property in the Crete for this summer, we decided to interview Jane Doncaster and find out why she loves Crete!

Meet Jane Doncaster

"If you want to sample the real Crete - the Iraklis Apartments will give you that experience!

Run by a Greek family who will give you a very warm welcome and some traditional home cooking, the hotel is in a great position for those who wish to explore the archaeological wonders of Crete. But for those who just wish to laze in the sun, there is a lovely pool surrounded by well tended plants and flowers and a beach just five minutes away."

On the rusk there is rubbed tomato and the Cretan cream cheese “myzíthra” while the dish is complemented by olive oil, salt, oregano and olives. It’s a quick and easy dish that offers a complete and nutritious meal.

Where would you recommend eating/drinking in Crete?
Cretans are very proud of their food and the great thing is nearly all restaurants offer traditional Greek and Cretan dishes made with local fresh produce.

What excursions do you recommend?
I recommend that everyone do a trip to the ancient Palace of Knossos which is right on our door step.
