We recently asked Solos' Tour Leaders to reveal their top three destinations ever travelled to on a Solos Holidays' tour. First up, we have Valery Collins who picked the following three fabulous destinations.

Madonna di Campiglio

"I fell in love with Madonna di Campiglio the first time I went there.  This pretty Italian resort is surrounded by the Brenta Dolomites, a spur of the Dolomite mountains – the peaks glow pink at sunset.  The skiing is excellent with the four peaks linked by connecting runs.  It is also linked by runs and lifts to three other resorts in the area so the skiing is varied and extensive.  In the summer the area offers some of the best walking I have ever come across with well-marked paths threading their way through the stunning scenery.  Our walking programme offers a good variety of walks from lakeside rambles to waterfall scrambles.  The mountains are peppered with small restaurants offering good quality food.  In the evenings we relax over a gourmet dinner in our hotel, the fabulous Hotel Lorenzetti."

Tallinn in Estonia

"Tallinn is one of my favourite cities due to the wide variety of attractions and fascinating history.  The Town Hall Square in the centre of town is an attractive square surrounded by interesting buildings including the oldest pharmacy in Europe that is still a working pharmacy.  The old town centre is still surrounded by its city walls enhancing the medieval ambience of the town.  The Seaplane Harbour Museum based in the unique hangars of Peter the Great’s defensive system traces the maritime history of Estonia on three levels.  Below the water, on the water and above the water.  Visitors can clamber aboard a submarine that was built in Britain.  The restaurants in town offer a wide variety of food from fine dining to rowdy Medieval banquets."

Myanmar (Burma)

"Myanmar is a fantastic destination with an incredible variety of sights to marvel at.  Yangon features large, gilded temples.  Their spires of gold glint in the sunlight – a magical sight.  The temples of Bagan are a complete contrast – brown structures rising out of the wild jungle that surrounds them and there are thousands of them   Lake Inle offers visitors the chance to experience life on the water as our little boats chug through the villages and explore floating fields of produce.  The road to Mandalay is actually a river with small villages dotted along its banks.  I enjoyed everything about this trip and what I don’t know about the different poses of Buddha isn’t worth knowing."
