About this holiday

Cruising

Departing Santa Cruz, Tenerife, we sail overnight to the unique island of La Gomera, we visit Valle Gran Rey a dramatic ravine cutting deep between forested mountains, rugged cliffs and beaches and see pretty villages sprinkled along the way including La Calera with its cliffside cluster of whitewashed houses, narrow streets and tiny restaurants

Puerto de la Estaca, El Hierro, the smallest, westernmost and least populated of the Canaries and where life is really in the slow lane. Its beaches are dramatic black or red swathes of volcanic sand.

Santa Cruz de la Palma, La Palma. Known locally as La Isla Bonita – the beautiful island.

La Palma isn’t short on breathtaking scenery with rolling mountains, plunging valleys and sweet-smelling pine forests. Once a major port in the Spanish Empire, Santa Cruz has grand colonial buildings and sleepy squares.

The spellbinding city of Funchal, Madeira combines a little of Portugal sprinkled with a dash of Garden of Eden and Edwardian Britain. Don’t miss the covered market, a dizzying montage of exotic fruit stalls and flower-sellers wearing traditional costume. And take a look at the city’s impressive Sé Cathedral with its ornate ceiling and artworks.

Our last port of call is Las Palmas, Gran Canaria where golden dunes are drenched in year-round sunshine and rugged mountains are adorned with pretty whitewashed villages. Here you could take a trip to the Bandama crater, one of the few inhabited volcanic craters in the world and discover the island’s cosmopolitan capital, Las Palmas where tempting tapas bars are tucked in among some Spanish colonial architecture.

Dining

Thomson Majesty has two restaurants with waiter service; The Seven Seasons and the Four Seasons Restaurants as well as the à la carte Le Bistro. For more flexible dining, choose a selfservice buffet at Café Royal or the Piazza San Marco perfect for lunch in the sun. For one extra special evening you’ll also enjoy the weekly Captain’s Cocktail Party and Gala Dinner.

Bars and lounges

The Royal Observatory is the highest vantage point on the ship and perfect to enjoy breath-taking views. Quizzes, bingo and live music are available in the Royal Fireworks Lounge whilst the Topsiders poolside bar provides refreshments in the sun and famous deck parties. A personality pianist makes the Polo bar perfect for pre-dinner drinks.

Entertainment

The focal point of the evening entertainment is the Jubilee Lounge with cabaret, comedy and the late night disco. Join in the deck parties with live music and stunning cabarets. If you are feeling lucky there is the Monte Carlo Casino.

There is also Sana Wellness Centre with seven treatment rooms, an adult pool on the sun deck, a well-stocked gym and a good-sized salon. Round-the-clock Wi-Fi, at a charge, lets you do a bit of research on the next port of call and stay in touch with loved ones back home. (Wi-Fi is also available at reception, Royal Fireworks Lounge, Rendezvous Bar, and Pool Bar).
