Rich heritage

Thailand is fiercely proud of its status as the only South-East Asian country to avoid colonisation, but has managed to absorb Western influences while keeping its centuries-old heritage and culture intact. Exquisite Buddhist temples lace almost every landscape, rural and urban, and you don't have to venture too far to stumble upon traditional fishing and farming communities, which still make up a large portion of the country's population.
