Sitting in the centre of Europe, Hungary is home to many beguiling and unexpected treasures. With 22 wine regions, there is sure to be a vintage or two that takes your fancy. Add to that 11 UNESCO World Heritage sites, including the Necropolis of Pecs and the Old Village of Holloko, and you have plenty to keep you occupied - and amazed.
The biggest draw to Hungary is the beautiful capital city Budapest. Take a stroll down the elegant Andrassy Avenue where the Opera, Academy of Fine Arts, Heroes’ Square and a number of spectacular statues can be found. For more sightseeing, sail down the Danube, passing the impressive Hungarian Parliament Building. And, if all the sightseeing becomes too much, drop by one of the many cafes or treat yourself to a dip in one of the city's many thermal spas.
