We welcome solo travellers of all ages on our holidays. You can expect to meet people from all different walks of life, all with their own stories and life experiences to share, never failing to create a fun and vibrant dynamic.
Over the years we have grown our product portfolio to include a variety of different holiday types, including sun, discovery tours, walking, tennis, golf, skiing and dancing for every kind of solo traveller. If you are not sure what is best for you our friendly team will be able to help find you the holiday that is right for you.
You can expect to meet people from all different walks of life, all with their own stories and life experiences to share, never failing to create a fun and vibrant dynamic.
Most solo travellers choose us because they don’t want to travel or attend a social event on their own. It’s your chance to experience new destinations, try different activities and socialise with a group of new friends or maybe even catch up with some old ones too!
Everyone on holiday is there to make new friends and enjoy their time away, which is why you will always find someone in your group whom you can relate to. By default, you already have something in common!
We always try to achieve an equal balance of women to men on all our singles holidays, breaks and events – however we can’t guarantee this.
This depends on the type of experience. The average size of our single holiday groups is 15, but on some of our singles group holidays such as golf it can be between 20 and 40. Our popular Black-Tie Balls can attract in excess of 80 people.
At Solos, we know that age is just a number which is why we welcome travellers of all ages on our holidays but typically our groups are made up over people aged 40 years and over. Our customers tell us that our mix of age groups is just one of the reasons they love our holidays.
You will always have use of either a single or double/twin room for sole use*. There are key times when the group will get together (at the welcome drink and on excursions for example), but it’s entirely up to you how much time you spend with the group.
We do offer this option on some of our holidays, particularly on our Dances & Festive Breaks and Discovery Tours. You may wish to share with a friend, for example, and make savings on the cost of a holiday. To find out more about sharing a room, please get in touch.
Solos Adventure:
Sharing this experience with fellow travellers is what makes Solos Adventure trips so unique. Which is why we base our rates on twin sharing as standard, with the added benefit of giving you value for money. Subject to availability, there is an option to pay a supplement for use of either a single or double/twin room for sole use*.
*Except for 2 nights in the rainforest on the Borneo Wilderness break where all rooms are quad share.
When you receive your holiday itinerary, we’ll let you know when and how you meet your Solos Tour Leader. Sometimes your Tour Leader* will meet you at the boarding gate and fly with you, while, at other times, you will meet the Tour Leader at the destination – either at the airport when you get off the plane or in the resort. Either way, we’ll advise you exactly what to do and what to expect.
*Not for Solos Adventure Holidays
We include transfers on many of our holidays, including where a regional flight has been booked as part of your package. Please note this transfer may be on your own, with another Solos customer or as a shuttle with non-Solos customers. On occasion, it may be necessary to wait for other passengers before the transfer departs. We are unable to include transfers in our package price for bookings with regional flights travelling on either Discovery, Activity including some Walks & Treks, Ski or City break holidays. In this instance, you will have the choice, where possible, of booking a separate transfer (at an additional cost) or joining the group transfer (if your flight arrives within 25 minutes of the group flight). It is important to note that we are not able to accept responsibility for missed transfers due to flight delays or any other circumstances beyond our control, such as schedule changes. If these changes result in the need for you to have a separate transfer, these costs will be passed on to you.
Solos Adventure:
With our travellers arriving from different destinations all over the world at various times, to minimise disruption to the group, transfers to and from the airport are not included. We recommend booking a taxi or airport shuttle prior to your flight.
If you would prefer to book your own flight, we are happy to quote the holiday price for land only. This means that both the flight cost and the transfers will be deducted. If we cancel your holiday due to low numbers, we will not be responsible for your flights. Please note that there may be occasions when we are unable to offer a land only package in order to manage our committed seats and hotel rooms.
Solos Adventure:
To give you the flexibility and freedom to plan your own journey unique to you, international flights are not included in our trip prices so you must make your own arrangements for travel to and from the destination. Our specially selected unique itineraries run throughout the year, meaning you can travel whenever is convenient for as long as you wish.
In the rare instance that we cancel your trip due to low numbers, we will not be responsible for your flights. Therefore, we recommend delaying the booking of your flight until you are notified by the sales team that the trip is full. We will confirm the trip status no later than one month prior to departure.
Yes. On some of our holidays for singles there are limited places so early booking is encouraged. If you choose to book later, we may not be able to confirm your place straight away and, if we’ve already filled our flight and hotel allocations, there may be a supplement to pay for additional places. So yes, it definitely pays to book early.
The air holiday packages and flights in this brochure are ATOL (Air Travel Organisers’ Licensing) protected by the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) – our ATOL number is 4029. ATOL protects you from losing your money or from being stranded abroad. It does this by carrying out checks on the tour operators and travel organisers it licenses, to ensure they are financially able to carry out their business. However, if a tour operator does go out of business, the CAA will ensure you do not lose the money you have paid. Or, if you’re abroad, they will arrange for you to finish your single holiday and fly home. Our holidays are also financially protected by ABTOT (Association of Bonded Travel Organisers Trust) – our ABTOT number is 5206. Please see our Solos Holidays Booking Agreement.
We are aware that there have been recent delays in getting through security at many UK airports, due to the volume of passengers travelling and reduced staffing levels so we are suggesting allowing more time in getting through the airport. You can also refer to the airport websites for additional information which are listed under Which airport do I depart from? in our FAQ’s. Standard check in opens from 2 hours before departure for short and mid-haul flights and 3 hours before departure for long haul flights. All our holidays are currently scheduled to depart as planned but in the unlikely event of any changes before departure we will contact you.
Please find the links below for information on which terminal your flight will depart from or general airport information:
