Five Star Wars locations you can actually visit

As Star Wars fans around the world celebrate May the Fourth, what better way to immerse yourself in the galaxy far, far away than by visiting real-life locations that served as backdrops for some of the most iconic scenes in the saga? The Plaza de España in Seville was used as a filming location for the planet Naboo. Its grand architecture and intricate tilework provided a regal setting for the scenes featuring Padmé Amidala.

Dubrovnik, Croatia: Old Town

Film Appearance: “Star Wars: The Last Jedi”

Dubrovnik’s historic Old Town served as the city of Canto Bight. Its well-preserved medieval architecture and stunning coastal location provided a luxurious backdrop for the film’s casino city scenes.

Film Appearance: “Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones”

Lake Como in northern Italy was used for exterior shots of Padmé Amidala’s lake retreat. The picturesque surroundings added to the romantic and tranquil ambiance of the scenes.

Grindelwald, Switzerland

Film Appearance: “Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith”

This picturesque alpine village was used for filming some scenes set on the planet Alderaan. While the specific scenes filmed in Grindelwald may not have been featured prominently, the stunning mountain scenery and quaint village architecture contributed to the overall aesthetic of Alderaan.
