Balmoral is the largest of Fred Olsen’s fleet, yet still retains the warm, intimate and friendly atmosphere found across our fleet. Balmoral takes her name from the Scottish residence of the British Royal Family and features 710 well-appointed rooms and suites.
Despite her size, Balmoral is still small enough to navigate narrow waterways, such as the Kiel Canal, providing guests with some fantastic scenic cruising opportunities missed when sailing on larger vessels.
The Scottish theme runs throughout the ship with the names of all fine-dining restaurants being influenced by the Highlands; the Ballindalloch, Avon and Spey. Whichever you dine in, you’ll be in for a treat as the Chef’s produce tantalising menus ensuring no two days are the same.
Braemar oozes timeless style and elegance, large windows spectacular views; while polished wooden fixtures, shining brass fittings, decadent fabrics and carefully designed decor give the feel of a traditional country house hotel. Capable of comfortably accommodating up to 929 guests, Braemar has a unique, intimate feel with friendly staff offering a fantastic level of personal service.
On board Braemar you’ll find a superb selection of restaurants, bars and lounges offering sumptuous cuisine, a wide range of beers, wines and spirits and fantastic entertainment. Traditional afternoon tea in the Observatory Lounge is not-to-be-missed, and be sure to take in a show in the Neptune Lounge.
One of the focal points on Braemar is a beautiful, five-deck high Atrium which leads to the fully-equipped Fitness Centre, Palms Café, Coral Club and the Thistle Restaurant; while the cascading decks at the stern enhance the ship’s elegant profile and offer stunning vistas no matter which deck you’re on.
