18 holes, 6079 metres, Par 72
This pleasurable, links-style course situated at Herdate dos Salgados close to the city of Albufeira, is set next to an attractive nature reserve, home to many endangered bird species. With a long sandy beach on one side and greens and tees located close to each other, makes this a walkable course with impressive views over the Atlantic Ocean.
18 holes, 5641 metres, Par 72
You’ll find an enjoyable variety of holes at Alamos, characterised with some narrow undulating fairways and small greens. Alamos is not a long course, and there are some stunning drives down narrow tree lined fairways but, as well, there are a number of wider holes where you can unleash your driver with less anxiety! Every hole has its own challenge and the course is renowned for its fast, tricky greens, so accurate putting will be vital for your card.
18 holes, 6598 metres, Par 72
One of the Algarves’ more challenging and well maintained courses. It is also home to some spectacular holes over a unique sandstone landscape. The 1st Hole is one of the best opening holes in Portugal where par or bogey is very satisfying. While the 4th with its elevated tee overlooking the course features a ferociously protected green.
18 holes, 6598 metres, Par 72
Christy O’Connor has created a very enjoyable resort course and while it has considerably more water coming into play than its sister course, it is an easier 18 holes to negotiate and none the worse for it! It is not a short course and allows you to take out the “big stick” on all the Par 4 and Par 5’s. The Par 3’s are enjoyable and not overly long. On the back 9 there is a series of risk and reward holes, which if you play to your handicap a very good score is likely to come your way. Beautifully maintained, this really is a very pleasant 18 holes.

This trip is for golfers with a verified handicap under the World Handicap System. Details can be found as follows;
Please advise our Reservations team of your handicap at the time of booking, alternatively you can add this to the special requirements box on our booking page. If you have a certificate please ensure you take it with you on the trip, this enables the Tour Leader to assess everyone’s ability, so that rounds and competitions can be organised fairly.
If you are uncertain about these requirements, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will be happy to advise you.
Handicap certificates are required
Clients will most probably find that their golf clubs are covered on their household insurance policy. Most policies cover a single item such as golf clubs for a period out of the country. However, clients should make very sure that they do have cover. If not, Solo’s Holidays insurance includes cover for golf clubs and bag.
We advise you to use a light golf bag when packing your clubs. We suggest you wrap a towel round the neck of the clubs to protect them and stop them rattling around whilst in transit. It is also important to then place the bag and clubs in an outer carrying bag, which can be purchased from any good golf shop.
Golf attire during the day. We suggest smart casual for the evenings.
Golf shoes with soft spikes are required.
We suggest a Group Collection to cover transfer drivers, and hotel staff of €20.00 per person. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, or taxi fares, your Tour Leader can advise of an appropriate % to add on.
A full 10-year passport is required, valid for 6 months beyond the intended length of stay.
A visa is not required by holders of passports endorsed “British Citizen” for stays of upto 90 days in any 180-day period.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the correct visa, a valid passport and any other travel documents for your holiday. All information provided relates to British citizens who hold or are entitled to apply for a British passport. For the most up-to-date visa information please visit; Portugal Foreign Advice
