After arriving at Baku Airport early in the morning, we will transfer to our hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is set aside for exploring charming Baku, a place where rich history mingles with Azerbaijan’s magnificent present.

On this tour we’ll discover the capital’s highlights, including the Old Town which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Later, we will see the legendary Zoroastrian Maiden Tower, which tells the story of Baku’s historic evolution, before proceeding to the old bazaar where we can buy spices and traditional crafts. Don’t forget to haggle for the best price! Our next stops include the historical buildings of Baku: Multani Caravanserai, Haj Banu-Hammam, Abu Bakr Mosque, Palace of Shirvanshahs and Juma Mosque (Friday Mosque), which housed the carpet museum in Soviet times. Baku Boat trip is another highlight of today. We will finish our tour in the modern part of the city, where we can see the impressive 3 Flame Towers. When evening comes, we can enjoy a welcome drink with other Solos guests before heading to dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight Baku

Visas
All passengers must be in possession of a passport with at least 6 months validity after the return date. A visa is required for entry into Azerbaijan. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the correct visa, a valid passport and any other travel documents for your holiday. All information provided relates to British citizens who hold or are entitled to apply for a British passport. For the most up-to-date visa information please visit the Azerbaijan Embassy.

If you are not a British citizen and do not hold a British passport, you must make your own enquiries as to the applicable requirements. Please be advised that all guests must apply for a visa from the Azerbaijan Embassy, The Travel Visa Company or an eVisa prior to departure.

As of January 2017, passengers can now apply for an eVisa to Azerbaijan through the link here. The contact details of your 1st hotel are as follows:

1) Azcot Hotel 4*

20, Nigar Refibeyli St.,Baku, 1001, Azerbaijan

British nationals do not need a visa to enter Georgia.

Your specific passport and visa requirements, and other immigration requirements are your sole responsibility and you should confirm these with the relevant embassies and/or consulates of the countries in which you are planning to travel.

Transfer Time
The transfer time for the main tour between Baku Airport and the hotel is approximately 30 to 40 minutes, depending on the traffic.

Gratuities
We suggest a Group Collection to cover guides, transfer drivers, and hotel staff of minimum £50.00 per person. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, or taxi fares, your Tour Leader can advise of an appropriate % to add on.

Included Programme
A sightseeing programme is included in your touring package.

Dress Code
During the day when sightseeing, we recommend casual, lightweight cotton clothing. You will find that smart casual wear is acceptable, even in the best hotels during the evening. We would recommend a lightweight raincoat and an umbrella or hat for protection against rain or sun. Comfortable shoes are a “must” for sightseeing. From time to time, your guide will advise you about observing local customs. On some occasions, when entering places of worship for example, it will be necessary to wear clothing covering one’s shoulders and knees and women may be required to wear a scarf.
