After arriving at Berlin Brandenburg Airport, we’ll proceed through and collect our luggage before heading to our hotel for a Solos welcome drink and dinner at the local restaurant.
After breakfast we will begin our 3-hour guided tour of Berlin. We will explore the main highlights, such as the Reichstag, seat of the German government, Potsdamer Platz, the new centre of Berlin, the Brandenburg Gate, Unter den Linden, once Berlin’s showcase boulevard, the famous border crossing site ‘Checkpoint Charlie’, Alexanderplatz and the TV tower, and remains of the Berlin Wall. We will finish off our tour at the former Western part.
The rest of the day is free for you to explore Berlin independently.
Today is free for you to spend however you wish.
You can visit museums and cultural landmarks or try Berlin’s tasty beer. This is a city celebrated for its freedom, creativity and cool attitude. It’s a city like no other in the world! In the evening we come together for dinner at the hotel to round off our busy few days exploring Berlin.
After breakfast we will have some free time before we’ll transfer to the airport for our return flight home.
Our hotel is located in the popular district of Mitte, just a short walk from the Friedrichstraße shopping street, Reichstag parliament building and Berlin’s central railway station.
The hotel’s restaurant provides fresh specialities from Berlin and the Brandenburg region, and drinks can be enjoyed at the hotel’s bar, Albrechts.
All rooms are equipped with radio, TV, minibar and telephone. Most rooms have free Wi-Fi and some have wired internet.
The transfer time from Berlin Brandenburg Airport to your hotel in Berlin is approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on the traffic.
We suggest layers – A warm jacket, sweater and scarf will keep you warm and a light jacket to have on standby if it is a little warmer. Whilst a small hand umbrella for emergencies never hurts. You shouldn’t need any specialist footwear, beyond good walking shoes.
There is often confusion on the question of gratuities, since it frequently depends on the type of holiday, location and, of course, your attitude towards tipping, as to what is normally expected. To give you a rough idea, we have given appropriate guidance below.
The Tour Leader will be on hand to offer advice or suggestions if required but gratuities are offered entirely at the sole discretion of the individual. We suggest a group collection at the beginning of your holiday to cover drivers, guides, porters and hotel staff of approximately £15. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip.
