Check-in at your hotel. When evening comes, we can enjoy a welcome drink with other Solos guests before dinner in the hotel restaurant followed by a lighthearted quiz.
On Saturday morning after breakfast we will explore the town with a guided tour. Bristol has a long and fascinating history from its beginnings in Saxon times up to the present day. Hidden among the modern streets are gems from Medieval, Georgian and Victorian times. The afternoon is then free to explore and relax on our own. When we return to our hotel, we'll meet up for an evening dinner.
On Sunday after checking out, you may like to explore the local area before heading home.
As with all our UK breaks, after a guided city tour of Bristol you'll have time to explore the city and its surroundings independently. Take a bus to Clifton Suspension Bridge and soak up the beautiful views over the river Avon and the city centre below. Designed in the early 19th century for light horse-drawn traffic, it still meets the demands of the 21st century, with 11-12,000 vehicles crossing it every day! In the city itself, you can take a street art tour, hit the shops or hop between museums and galleries which recount Bristol's vibrant past.
Our hotel is just a 10 minute walk from Bristol city centre and Bristol Temple Meads station. The hotel's unique look shares its connections to the rich industrial and maritime history that Bristol is renowned for. Its harbourside location gives you the opportunity to explore many nearby attractions.
A full English breakfast is served each morning in the Urban Bar & Kitchen, where you can also enjoy a meal or drink at the bar. You can also unwind in hotel’s large indoor heated pool, fitness suite and spa. Parking is offered on a first-come-first-served basis (£15 for 24 hours). There are also two NCP open air car parks nearby.
The well-appointed rooms are both contemporary and comfortable. All rooms are en-suite and feature a TV, minibar and facilities for making tea and coffee.

GratuitiesThere is often confusion on the question of gratuities, since it frequently depends on the type of holiday, location and, of course, your attitude towards tipping, as to what is normally expected. In order to give you a rough idea, we have given appropriate guidance below. The Tour Leader will be on hand to offer advice or suggestions if required but gratuities are offered entirely at the sole discretion of the individual. We suggest a group collection at the beginning of your holiday to cover drivers, guides and hotel staff (including restaurant, kitchen and reception staff) of approximately £5. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of bar staff and housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (the rounding up of the drinks bill and a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, restaurants expect a 10% gratuity (do check that service has not already been added to your bill). For taxis 10% off the metered fare.
Dress codeThe dress code for during the day is casual. In the evenings the dress code is smart casual. Comfortable shoes for walking and sightseeing are recommended.
