DAY 2

Hoover Dam - Valley of Fire State Park

We start the day with a visit to Hoover Dam, impressive dam on the famous Colorado River. Constructed in 1936, it is one of the largest dams in the United States: at 726ft / 221m tall, the dam is the equivalent height of a 60 story skyscraper. Hoover Dam generates enough hydroelectric power to serve 1.3 million people each year and provides water for urban centers including Los Angeles, Phoenix and Tucson. For all that, Hoover Dam is much more; it is an American icon, a monument to the ingenuity of the nation’s engineers and the power of its machines. Hoover Dam is the symbol of an era when an urban, industrial America reveled in harnessing its natural resources. We continue to Valley of Fire State Park, the oldest state park in Nevada. It covers an area of 34,880 acres (14,120 ha) and was dedicated in 1935. It derives its name from red sandstone formations, formed from great shifting sand dunes during the age of dinosaurs. These features, which are the centerpiece of the park’s attractions, often appear to be aflame when reflecting the sun’s rays. Enjoy a 1.2 mile hike on the Fire Wave Trail. (approx. 1 hour).  Return to Las Vegas at the end of the day.
  • Breakfast included
  • Excalibur Hotel & Casino

Zion’s unique array of plants and animals will enchant you as you absorb the rich history of the past and enjoy the excitement of present day adventure. Your visit will include a short hike on the Grotto Trail (1mile / 30-45 minutes), one of the best areas for wildlife viewing. We will then continue to Bryce.
  • Breakfast included
  • Best Western Ruby’s Inn

Bryce Canyon

Today we visit of Bryce Canyon, one of the most fascinating natural parks of Utah. The Mormons discovered this site in the 19th century. The dazzling shapes and shades of the stone of memorable Pink Cliffs constantly vary from dawn to dusk. Spend the day visiting the park. The park has numerous trails of varying lengths and difficulties. Be sure not to miss the Sunset to Sunride Trail for some of the best views of the Bryce ampitheater (1mile / 30-45 minutes).

DAY 5

Capitol Reef – Moab

Leave for Capitol Reef. This is a 900-foot high rock barrier extending 20 miles that overlooks the Fremont River. The rocky strata, deformed by the vertical thrust of the Colorado plateau 65 million years ago, eroded and gave the landscape its present day appearance. Enjoy 1 to 2 (depending on time) short hikes in the park: Goosenecks (0.1 mile) and Sunset Point (0.4 mile) to take in the breath taking canyon views. Continue to Moab for overnight stay.
  • Breakfast included
  • Hyatt Place, Moab
DAY 6

Arches National Park

Today we spend the day visiting Arches National Park. Here you’ll be treated to the sight of strange formations in the reddish-ochre rock, which have been formed into colossal natural arches by nature’s whimsical hand.  These arches have been sculpted by wind, rain, ice, and time into the natural wonders of today.  The park extends over 76,000 acres and contains 88 monuments of rock, having been designated as a national park in 1971. The park has numerous trails of varying lengths and difficulties. Join in on one or more easy to moderate difficulty hikes including : Balanced Rock Trail (0.3 mile / 30 minutes), Broken Arch Trail (1.2 miles / 1 hour), Delicate Arch (0.5 mile / 45 minutes). Moab – Monument Valley

After breakfast we leave for Monument Valley, where you will find yourself surrounded by dark red hills. This 25 mile-long by 16-mile wide desert plain overflows with gigantic sandstone monoliths rising high above the valley. Enjoy a jeep tour with the local Navajo Indians. You may recognize the scenery as this has been the location where numerous western movies have been filmed. Continue on to Page for the overnight stay
  • Breakfast included
  • Hyatt Place, Page
DAY 8

Antelope Canyon - Horseshoe Bend

Visit of Antelope Canyon (1h). Gently carved from the Navajo sandstone over the course of countless millennia, the slot canyons are majestic and narrow passages, with just enough space for a small group to walk the sandy floor – and for the occasional shafts of sunlight to shine down from above. Next we venture out on an easy 1.5 mile (roundtrip) hike to Horseshoe Bend: a geologic masterpiece sculpted by the Colorado River, Horseshoe Bend is an example of what happens when water takes the path of least resistance. Here at Horseshoe Bend, an unstoppable force met an immovable object, namely, a sandstone escarpment. Since this rock formation wasn’t going to budge anytime soon, the river did the most logical thing it could: it went around it. The result is the 270° bend in the river you see before you. We continue to Flagstaff for the overnight stay.
  • Breakfast included
  • Baymont Flagstaff
DAY 9

Grand Canyon

This morning we depart to the Grand Canyon, a superb geological phenomenon. This is most certainly one of the highlights of your trip. Walk along the South Rim to see one of the most beautiful and awe-inspiring wonders in the world. While the entire rim trail is 13 miles in length, you can enjoy portions of the trail and take the complimentary park shuttle to various stopping points along the trail. The Grand Canyon is the result of millions of years of wind and water erosion, an endless expanse of shapes, colours and impenetrable shadow. The Colorado River flows over a mile below the canyon rim. It is possible to organize an optional scenic helicopter tour of the canyon. Return to Flagstaff at the end of the day.
  • Breakfast included
  • Baymont Flagstaff
DAY 10
