Useful Information

Passports & Visas

A full 10-year passport is required, valid for the duration of your stay. Holders of a British passport do not require a visa.

It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the correct visa, a valid passport and any other travel documents for your holiday. All information provided relates to British citizens who hold or are entitled to apply for a British passport. For the most up-to-date visa information please visit;  South Africa - UK Foreign Office

If you are not a British citizen and do not hold a British passport, you must make your own enquiries as to the applicable requirements. Alternatively, you can apply for your Visa with our preferred partner the Travel Visa company by selecting the following link; Travel Visa Company.

Transfer Time
The transfer time from Cape Town International Airport to your hotel is approximately 30 minutes, depending on the traffic.

Gratuities

We suggest a Group Collection to cover transfer drivers, and hotel staff of €15.00 per person. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, or taxi fares, your Tour Leader can advise of an appropriate add on.

Currency

South African Rand - ZAR

Included Programme

2 days entry to the Test Cricket at Newlands Stadium

Optional Excursions

We are offering three optional excursions. These must be pre-booked before you travel. Opting for a scheduled excursion means you will join an existing sightseeing tour and you will be with others who are not part of our group. These tours run daily and have pre-set itineraries and departure/arrival times.

Table Mountain, Robben Island & City  - currently £88

Full Day - Including all the `must-sees` of any Cape Town day tour, this option is a geographical and cultural extravaganza, showing you Cape Town, from its historical beginnings to its dark days of apartheid and present day spirit of triumph and hope in a democratic South Africa.

Cape Point & Peninsula - currently £71

Full Day – This awe-inspiring tour to the towering headland known as Cape Point encompasses magnificent beaches, breath-taking views, and picturesque coastal villages. The Cape Peninsula is one of the world’s most scenic areas and stretches from the City centre to Cape Point.

Cape Winelands - currently £62

Full Day – This delightful drive winds its way to the heart of the Cape Winelands, through superb mountain ranges, vineyards and Cape Dutch homesteads. The region boasts great beauty, culture and is steeped in South African history.  With the sheer vastness of wine estates on offer, we are truly spoilt for choice in enjoying 2 to 3 wine tastings and possibly a cellar tour.

Dress Code

The sun can be strong at this time of year so we suggest casual daytime medium-weight “layers” are recommended. Comfortable shoes are a “must” for sightseeing.
