After arriving at Kraków Airport, we’ll proceed through immigration and collect our luggage before heading to our hotel in Kraków for a Solos welcome drink and dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight stay in Kraków.

After breakfast we will have some free time before getting into the Polish Christmas spirit by learning how to prepare the most renowned Polish dish - pierogi. We will learn how to make the dough and different fillings for this Christmas Eve staple dish, which we then sample for our lunch.  

In the evening we will enjoy Christmas Eve dinner which is widely celebrated in Poland at our hotel. Overnight stay in Kraków.

After breakfast we will begin our guided walking tour of Kraków’s Old Town. Our tour will take us past the Main Market Square, St Mary’s Church and the renaissance Sukiennice Cloth Hall. We’ll then proceed to Planty - also known as Kraków’s Gardens - and admire the Barbican fortress, Florian’s Gate, Slowacki Theatre and the defensive city walls. Our tour will also take us to the famous Wawel Royal Castle and its arcaded courtyard – the former seat of Polish kings that’s perched on top of Wawel Hill.

We will then enjoy our Christmas day lunch in a local restaurant.

After breakfast at our hotel we will transfer to Wieliczka Salt Mine for half a day guided tour. Wieliczka is the most beautiful and the oldest operating salt mine in the world and is included in a UNESCO Heritage list. From over 700 years it was a source of Polish fortune and a physical fundament of culture. On our tour we will see magnificent chapels, charming underground lakes, original tools and equipment as well as beautiful sculptures made of salt and the salt museum.

In the afternoon we will enjoy a music concert performed by the Royal Chamber Orchestra at Chopin Concert Hall, accompanied by a glass of sparkling wine.

The Royal Chamber Orchestra is an ensemble consisting of outstanding musicians from Krakow, who graduated from The Academy of Music, giving performances all over the world. Their music is the combination of excellent taste, unlimited imagination and the perfect technique. The concert hall has unique acoustics and an intimate atmosphere.

Chopin Concert Hall houses Chopin Galleryplaced in the 15th century building, which used to be a house of Master of the Hunt for the Royal Family, Kaspar Dębiński.

In the evening we will enjoy farewell dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight stay in Kraków.

Passports and visas

A full 10-year passport is required valid for at least the duration of your stay. Holders of passports with the inscription “British Citizen” or “European Union” do not require a visa.

Transfer Time
The transfer time from Kraków Airport to your hotel in Kraków is approximately 30 minutes, depending on the traffic.

Gratuities
We suggest a Group Collection to cover guides, transfer drivers, and hotel staff of minimum £15.00 per person. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, or taxi fares, your Tour Leader can advise of an appropriate % to add on.

Included Programme 

Approx. 4 hour guided visit of the Kraków and approx. 4-5 hours day trip to Wieliczka Salt Mine with a guide is included in your/ touring package. 

Dress Code 

Dressing in layers with warm, casual evening wear is recommended with comfortable footwear. Warm waterproof shoes are also essential with warm socks, gloves, hat and scarf. Winters in Poland are usually cold.
