A perfect base for our leisure week
Explore the Bronze Age site of Knossos
Grab a sun lounger and while away the day taking in the Greek sun
Enjoy uninterrupted sea views!
Kick back and relax on the beautiful island of Crete. We stay at the 5* Kalimera Kriti Hotel located in the tranquil resort of Sissi where tradition and tourism sit side-by-side, offering visitors a real insight into the character and rhythms of Greek life. Join us this summer and enjoy a relaxing Greek holiday.
Like many villages on the island, Sissi was once a former fishermen’s village, but unlike neighbouring Malia or Hersonissos it has remained untouched. If you’re looking for peace and quiet and want to get away from commercial holidays, then Sissi is the place for you.
Our hotel is ideally located with its own secluded beach. Here we can grab a sun lounger and while away the day taking in the Greek sun. Kitted out with all the amenities you need to completely unwind and soak up some much-needed Vitamin D. We can also lounge by one of the hotel’s freshwater swimming pools or enjoy a drink (or two!) at the bar.
Crete has more to offer than just beaches and tavernas. The main town of Heraklion is a 45 minute drive away. Alternatively why not take the opportunity to discover the traditional Cretan life with a number optional tours. Explore the Bronze Age site of Knossos or head across to the captivating island of Spinalonga; one of the last leper colonies in Europe and its Venetian fort.
Our beachfront hotel is in the peaceful resort of Sissi on the North-East coast of Crete and extends a warm Greek welcome. With over 60 acres of colourful Mediterranean gardens, we can be sure to have a truly relaxing holiday.
Facilities include a buffet restaurant and 2 a la carte restaurants, 3 bars, 2 outdoor freshwater swimming pools, indoor freshwater swimming pool, spa (additional charge) , sauna, steam room fitness centre and shopping centre.
All rooms are decorated in traditional Cretan style and come with air-conditioning, satellite TV, safe, mini bar, hairdryer and balcony or terrace.
Transfer time from Heraklion Airport to Kalimera Kriti Hotel & Village Resort is approximately 40 minutes depending on traffic
You may wish to take an optional excursion during the course of your stay. Full details will be given at the Information Meeting. All tours can be paid for in Euros. Your Tour Leader will help arrange these for you but may not necessarily accompany you.
There is often confusion on the question of gratuities, since it frequently depends on the type of holiday, location and, of course, your attitude towards tipping, as to what is normally expected. In order to give you a rough idea, we have given appropriate guidance below.
Your Tour Leader will be on hand to offer advice or suggestions if required but gratuities are offered entirely at the sole discretion of the individual. We suggest a group collection to cover drivers, porters and hotel staff of €20.00 per week. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, or taxi fares, your Tour Leader can advise of an appropriate add on.
Casual, cotton, lightweight daytime wear is the order of the day. Comfortable shoes are a must for sightseeing. Smart casual clothes will be ideal for the evening, with the emphasis throughout being informal but with no shorts or vests in the restaurants in the evenings. Early and late season evenings can be cool so do ensure that you take a cardigan or jacket and even some rainwear.
