About the trip

The third largest Canary Island, Gran Canaria has long been a holiday favourite and new for Winter 2023/24 we are offering the beach resort of Puerto Rico on the South-West coast of the island. A resort that offers a dramatic volcanic backdrop, marina, seafront promenade, wide sandy bay and plenty of shops, bars and restaurants, surely the perfect base for our winter sun holiday.

It is said that Puerto Rico offers more hours of sunshine than anywhere else on Gran Canaria, which is great news for all of us looking for some winter sunshine! Puerto Rico is a resort set in to the mountainous valley, overlooking the wide sandy bay and Atlantic Ocean. Puerto Rico offers a shopping centre, market, marina and more cafes, lively bars and restaurants that you will know what to do with. We are sure that this resort will offer the perfect place for a good dose of social, winter sun.

Our Adults Only Hotel

The IG Nachosol Atlantic by Survatur hotel is situated on the hillside overlooking the beach and resort of Puerto Rico, where a seafront promenade takes you to the bays beyond including the impressive Amadores beach. Our Adults Only hotel is only 10 minutes’ walk from Puerto Rico beach, so if you fancy changing your sunbathing location from poolside to beachside, this is easy to do! The hotels La Princesa restaurant offers a great choice for breakfast and dinner  is served à la carte  and the pool bar, which is open until 17.00, serves snacks and drinks throughout the afternoon. A drink with a view in the afternoon definitely sounds like a good plan!

More to Explore

Once in resort, if you fancy a day or two away from your sun lounger then you can head to the capital of Las Palmas and visit the Canary Museum. Here we can learn more about Christopher Columbus’s journey through the city on his voyage to America. The Cathedral of Las Palmas is also worth a visit. Built almost 600 years ago, it has a gothic interior and an imposing neoclassical facade. Alternatively, if you’re after something more adventurous then a 4 x 4 jeep safari or a catamaran trip to search for the dolphins could be the ideal way to see more of what this lovely island has to offer – see More to Explore below.

4* IG Nachosol Atlantic by Servatur

IG Nachosol Atlantic by Servatur is an Adults Only 4-star property located set on the hillside in Puerto Rico, 10 minutes’ walk from the nearest beach and there are two to choose from! Also close by are the marina, shopping centre and seafront promenade with a choice for bars and restaurants. Please note that due to the location of this hotel, which is set on a hillside, it may not be suitable for people with walking difficulties.

Facilities Include

Hotel facilties include a swimming pool and terrace with fabulous views of the beach below. There is also a hot tub, loungers, tables and chairs around the pool area making the most of the view. In addition there is a rooftop sun terrace which also overlooks the beach. The hotel also has La Princesa restaurant and a bar open until 17.00 daily.

Room Includes

Rooms include two single beds together, sofa area and desk. Equipped kitchen with refrigerator, ceramic hob and microwave. Bathroom with shower and furnished terrace or balcony with table and chairs. Air conditioning, safe, TV and Wi-Fi. Beach and pool towels – available at a deposit of currently 10€, per towel
