Day on the Norfolk Broads
Close to the resort amenities
Join us in Norfolk’s premier beach resort, Great Yarmouth and enjoy a Solos fun-packed short break in one of the UK’s most well-known sea-side towns. Our award winning beach-front 4 star hotel with outstanding sea views is a perfect accompaniment to discover everything the resort has offer plus within easy reach of the delightful Norfolk Broads for our included day out.
Check-in at our hotel. When evening comes, we can enjoy a welcome drink with other Solos guests before dinner in the hotel restaurant.
After a leisurely breakfast we head to the beautiful Norfolk Broads. We travel to the village of Wroxham where we will take a nostalgic steam hauled train trip through the picturesque Norfolk countryside together with a boat cruise on the famous Norfolk Broads. The train journey takes in 9 miles of the Norfolk countryside and your cruise, usually 1½ hours, takes you along the River Bure. You may want to bring along binoculars to take in fantastic views! You will also have some free time to explore the pretty village of Wroxham which is famous for its Roys collection of shops! We then transfer back to our hotel where we’ll meet up in the evening for dinner.
This morning we have our private Solos walking tour of Great Yarmouth. We will meet our Heritage walking guide who will take us on a trip down memory lane and learn how the holiday & entertainment industry has played its part in shaping Great Yarmouth as we know and love it today. After a delightful morning of seeing points of interest and hearing delightful stories our afternoon is at leisure to enjoy everything this town has to offer today. Maybe take a walk along the beach or discover the “Golden Mile” with the traditional Britannia pier, seaside shops and cafes and perhaps for the more adventurous a visit to the Pleasure Beach fun fair! In the evening we will meet up for dinner.

There is often confusion on the question of gratuities, since it frequently depends on the type of holiday, location and, of course, your attitude towards tipping, as to what is normally expected. In order to give you a rough idea, we have given appropriate guidance below. The Tour Leader will be on hand to offer advice or suggestions if required but gratuities are offered entirely at the sole discretion of the individual. We suggest a group collection at the beginning of your holiday to cover drivers, guides and hotel staff (including restaurant, kitchen and reception staff) of approximately £10. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of bar staff and housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (the rounding up of the drinks bill and a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, restaurants expect a 10% gratuity (do check that service has not already been added to your bill). For taxis 10% of the metered fare.
