Lords Palace Hotel

Complete with its own beach, the Lords Palace affords 5* comfort and style and is conveniently placed with the cobbled streets of old Kyrenia town and its historical, picturesque harbour only a short distance away. The hotel offers a roof-top swimming pool (summer) and dining experience affording stunning views of the Mediterranean and the Beşparmak Mountains. You can also indulge and enjoy the superb spa facilities including an indoor pool.

Sandwiched between the sea and the Five Finger Mountain range, the town of Kyrenia can trace back its DNA some 6000 years. Today, terraced cafes, beachwear boutiques and local markets stacked with the local catch, vie for your attention next to boats bobbing on the water and the majestic castle. A quiet place to enjoy a cooling drink by day, the harbour atmosphere livens up as the sun sets. There is also a choice of bars along the seafront that play a variety of music to suit everyone.

Full Day Tour of Nicosia

Being the only divided capital city in the world, the small old city center has much to offer. The oldest name the city was known by is LEDRA, dating back to Assyrian time. During the Egyptian period the city was named as the combination after the Kings son's name "Lefkos" and his wife's name "Sia" and called LEFKOSIA. If you are interested in history, here you will be lost in it. Beautiful French gothic style church remains, mosques, closed bazaars and a beautifully restored Kervanseray, just to name a few of the sites. You will also have some free time to explore further and maybe do a bit of shopping!

Full Day Tour of the Karpaz Region (all other dates)

The Peninsula of Karpaz is definitely the best part of North Cyprus! The fishermen’s harbour of the traditional village of Bogaz will be our first stop. Here you can opt to enjoy a Turkish coffee or tea break. We continue towards Dipkarpaz village where Turks and Greeks live in harmony and a mosque is located right next to a Greek orthodox church and Greek cafe. We continue through more and more countryside and drive past wild donkeys (dont forget to bring an apple or carrots!) towards St. Andreas Monastery where it is said a sip from the healing water spring may improve your eyesight and other ailments. Pending the weather conditions, we may be able to stop for swimming and relaxation at one of the lovely sandy beaches of the Panhandle.

Full Day Tour of Girne

This tour will give you the opportunity to visit the ruins of the castle which was said to have inspired Walt Disney’s Snow White - St. Hilarion Castle! We can also enjoy fabulous views of Kyrenia’s coastline from the top. The three section castle provides a fantastic view over the whole coastal area of Girne as well as an optional exercise while climbing up to its 3rd level! This is followed by a visit to Bellapais village where Lawrence Durrell wrote his famous book “Bitter Lemons of Cyprus”. The village itself is famous for its beautiful remains of the Abbey of Bellapais, which is regarded as a masterpiece of Gothic Art and one of the most romantic settings on the island.

More to Explore

This holiday includes three included excursions. The excursions are all for a full day and include lunch. If you wish to travel between the Turkish and Greek sides of Nicosia you will need to take your passport with you. You may also wish to take an optional excursion during the course of your stay. Full details will be given at the Information Meeting. All optional tours can be paid for locally. Your Tour Leader will help arrange these for you but may not necessarily accompany you.

There is often confusion on the question of gratuities, since it frequently depends on the type of holiday, location and, of course, your attitude towards tipping, as to what is normally expected. In order to give you a rough idea, we have given appropriate guidance below.

Your Tour Leader will be on hand to offer advice or suggestions if required but gratuities are offered entirely at the sole discretion of the individual. We suggest a group collection to cover drivers, porters and hotel staff of €15.00 per week. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, or taxi fares, your Tour Leader can advise of an appropriate add on.

Dress Code
Casual, cotton, lightweight daytime wear is the order of the day. Comfortable shoes are a must for sightseeing. Smart casual clothes will be ideal for the evening, with the emphasis throughout being informal but with no shorts or vests in the restaurants in the evenings. Early and late season evenings can be cool so do ensure that you take a cardigan or jacket and even some rainwear. Please note bathing caps are required.

Select Flight Inclusive or Excluding Flight if available. Excluding Flight bookings allow you free cancellation and amendments but do not include flights. Flights can be added later. See our Free Cancellation Guarantee. Normal terms and conditions apply. All holidays ATOL protected.
