Cosmopolitan Rhodes is what everybody imagines a Greek island should be: sugarcube houses lining stunning turquoise bays, ancient towns and gorgeous beaches; and some fantastic nightlife as well! Join us this summer to experience a fun Greek holiday!
Our hotel is located a mere 500 meters from the sandy shingle Zefyros beach, in the northern tip of the island and the lively capital Rhodes Town is just than 1.5km away. A short stroll will take us to the resort’s lovely marina where we can enjoy some delicious local cuisine in the numerous traditional Greek tavernas and coffee shops.
A 10 minute drive will take us into the narrow streets, imposing gates and ancient castle of Rhodes Old Town. The haunt of the Knights of St. John is dominated by the Palace of the Grand Masters. There are Ottoman mosques and ancient temples dedicated to Aphrodite all within the city’s walls. Curio shops entice you in for great buys of leather, rugs, ceramics and delicate costume jewellery.
Further down the coast, Lindos is considered by many to be the most charming and picturesque town on the island. Overlooked by its own Acropolis, it consists of a labyrinth of cobbled alleyways littered with shops, bars and restaurants, mixed with medieval walls and simple architecture influenced by Roman, Turk, Italian and Byzantine Greek cultures. Despite most of the buildings being small, keep your eyes peeled as some have quite impressive façades and doorways. One of the town’s many delights is that it is pedestrian friendly. As the streets are so narrow, cars are not allowed, only small delivery vans, motorbikes and donkeys!
Our hotel is located just minutes from Zefyros Beach. Our hotel extends a traditional, warm Greek welcome.
Facilities here include outdoor swimming pool, buffet restaurant, pool bar and fitness centre.
All rooms are simply decorated and have a balcony or terrace, air-conditioning, satellite TV, fridge, safe (payable locally) and hairdryer.
Transfer time from Rhodes airport to Island Resorts Marisol Hotel is approximately 30 minutes depending on traffic
You may wish to take an optional excursion during the course of your stay. Full details will be given at the Information Meeting. All tours can be paid for in Euros. Your Tour Leader will help arrange these for you but may not necessarily accompany you.
There is often confusion on the question of gratuities, since it frequently depends on the type of holiday, location and, of course, your attitude towards tipping, as to what is normally expected. In order to give you a rough idea, we have given appropriate guidance below.
Your Tour Leader will be on hand to offer advice or suggestions if required but gratuities are offered entirely at the sole discretion of the individual. We suggest a group collection to cover drivers, porters and hotel staff of €20.00 per week. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, or taxi fares, your Tour Leader can advise of an appropriate add on.
Casual, cotton, lightweight daytime wear is the order of the day. Comfortable shoes are a must for sightseeing. Smart casual clothes will be ideal for the evening, with the emphasis throughout being informal but with no shorts or vests in the restaurants in the evenings. Early and late season evenings can be cool so do ensure that you take a cardigan or jacket and even some rainwear.
