Life in Mexico is always full of colour and vigour. It’s the perfect place to relax but also full of history and sites waiting to be discovered. Join us at our new Adults Only, 5* All Inclusive holiday on the exclusive Yucatan peninsular to experience Mexican charm first hand!
Our Adults Only resort is the ideal place to relax. Located on the sea front on a stretch of white sandy beach and boasting stunning views of the azure Caribbean Sea, this 5 star resort is located a short drive south of the resort of Playa del Carmen. Take it easy and sip a cocktail at the pool bar by the infinity pool or explore the coral reef just offshore from the white sand beach situated in front of our hotel. If you feel like being pampered then head to the Spa for a treatment (extra costs apply). If there is not enough relaxing to be had at our hotel, we also have access to the sister hotels along the beach so you could try a different pool or bar or restaurant every day!
Grab a sombrero and journey to Mexico’s Mayan Riviera, located on the eastern portion of the Yucatán Peninsula. The district lies approximately 32km south of Cancun and has a distinct Mexican charm. Here it’s all about having fun in the sun, with many of the country’s best beaches and offshore reefs making it ideal for water sports enthusiasts, as well as offering a host of other activities. With such a rich cultural history, there are some fascinating places to visit, including ancient Mayan sites, colonial cities and natural attractions. The coast is excellent for snorkelling and scuba diving amongst the coral reefs, thanks to the gentle surf and clear waters.
Salsa, fajitas, tortillas and the like have fast become some of the most popular foods around the world, but you’ll discover there’s a lot more to Mexican cuisine as it’s actually very diverse and full of different flavours. Ceviche involves citrus-marinated seafood and is often served in bars – do try it as it’s absolutely delicious. When it comes to drinks, Tequila is legendary, but you’ll be amazed by the hundreds of different types available. A holiday to this part of Mexico wouldn’t be complete without visiting the ancient Mayan temple ruins of Chichén Itzá and Tulum.
Barceló Maya Riviera is a majestic Adults Only, All Inclusive resort in the Riviera Maya, located 47 miles south of Cancun International Airport and 12 miles south of Playa del Carmen. There are several optional tours, which may be on offer during your stay. Full details of these tours (an axample of some on offer below) will be given at your Information Meeting. Please note that they will not be exclusive to our Solos group. Your Tour Leader will help arrange these for you but may not necessarily accompany you.

Ancient ruins, beaches and swimming in underground caves make this an action-packed morning of adventure. A guided tour of one of Mexico’s most important historical sites is followed by a visit to a traditional Mayan community.

The Tour Leader will be on hand to offer advice or suggestions if required but gratuities are offered entirely at the sole discretion of the individual.
We suggest a group collection at the end of your holiday to cover drivers, guides, porters and hotel staff (including restaurant, kitchen and reception staff) of approximately £50.00, (or the equivalent amount in local currency). Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of bar staff and housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (the rounding up of the drinks bill and a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated).
As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, restaurants expect a 10% (do check that service has not already been added to your bill). For taxis 10% the metered fare.
Casual, cotton, lightweight daytime wear is the order of the day and of course swimwear! Comfortable shoes are a must for sightseeing. Smart casual clothes will be ideal for the evening, with the emphasis throughout being informal but with no shorts or vests in the restaurants in the evenings.
