After breakfast we will make our way to the small seaside village of Palau and board the boat to the beautiful island of La Maddalena. We visit the village and house of Giuseppe Garibaldi in Caprera who is best known for his military leadership in the unification of Italy in the 19th century. It was the last residence of G. Garibaldi, built in 1856 on that part of the island that he wanted to buy. Inside you can still find the furniture and objects of the general’s life. The famous Garibaldi biscuit was named after Giuseppe Garibaldi and is popular with British consumers as a snack for over 150 years and is conventionally consumed with tea or coffee.

We suggest a Group Collection to cover guides, transfer drivers, and hotel staff of minimum £30.00 per person. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, or taxi fares, your Tour Leader can advise of an appropriate % to add on.

Included Programme
A sightseeing programme is included in your touring package.

Dress Code
The dress code for during the day is casual. In the evenings the dress code is smart with gentlemen requested to wear a shirt and tie. Comfortable shoes for walking and sightseeing are recommended.

Please note a reasonable level of fitness/mobility is required as we include plenty of sightseeing/travelling, some with early starts.
