After flying into Zagreb we transfer to our first hotel where we’ll be greeted with a welcome drink before having dinner at the hotel. Situated in the charming village of Bled, our hotel offers sweeping vistas over the Austrian and Italian Alps. Bled is most famous for the glacial Lake Bled and is the starting point for our walking tour.
After breakfast, we transfer to the starting point of our walking tour of the Kranjska Gora area. Our warm-up walk takes us through the beautiful Jasna Valley where we will be greeted by the glorious mountain area of the Prisank and Razor Mountains! Here you can enjoy a typical hiker’s lunch (not included) in the Krinca hut before our transfer back to the hotel.
This morning our walking trail takes us past the beautiful waterfalls embedded in the Martuljek mountain range. We take a short transfer to Gozd Martuljek and from here we’ll walk uphill along a gorge and past the Lower Martuljek waterfall to the Jasenje Mountain, where cattle graze during the summer time. When we arrive, you will have the chance to buy local specialities from the ‘Pri Ingotu’ cabin while you enjoy the view of the Martuljek mountain range. The trail then continues up to the Upper Martuljek waterfall and then we descend partly along the same trail to Gozd Martuljek. Later, we can enjoy dinner at the hotel. Overnight Bled
After breakfast we transfer from our hotel to Pokljuka and Uskovnica Sadle. Here we will begin our hike across mountain pastures passing rustic farmhouses to a fantastic viewing point nestled in the beautiful Bohinj Valley. In the afternoon we transfer back to our hotel where we have an opportunity to relax around Lake Bled and perhaps take an optional excursion on a traditional Pletna boat on the lake.
Today we check out from our hotel. We will have some free time for perhaps a coffee or a spot of souvenir shopping before we transfer to our hotel in Bovec. In the evening we can enjoy our welcome drink before having dinner.
This morning after breakfast we take our transfer to Koca. Our route today crosses the mighty Vrsic Pass into the hidden Trenta Valley, a part of Slovenia very few travellers ever experience. We continue along the course of the beautiful Soca River with its crystalline turquoise waters. In Bovec near the Itallian border, we can see reminders from the Napoleonic and WW1 battles including the majestic Kluze Fortress. We then move south to Kobarid where the landscape has a more Mediterranean feel.
Final day at leisure and evening dinner at hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, we will transfer to the airport for our flight home

Distance: 7 to 14 km per day
Walking boots: Essential
It is of paramount importance that you have the correct footwear. It is essential to wear walking boots that are comfortable and preferably lightweight, with some ankle support and a good grip. If you already have a pair of boots that you are happy walking in (including during hot/wet weather and on hard ground), then bring these along. However, if you are bringing new footwear, do make sure they are well broken in before you arrive. Experience has shown that wearing 2 pairs of woollen socks adds to comfort. Whilst we would hope for good weather during your holiday, it is of course impossible to guarantee this. We would therefore recommend you travel with clothing suitable for all conditions, and suggest you use the following checklist as a guideline of what to take:
There may be optional activities available to you during the course of your holiday, full details of which will be given out at your Information Meeting by your Tour Leader. All tours should be paid for in euros only. The exact amount will be given at your Information Meeting. Your Tour Leader will help arrange these for you but may not necessarily accompany you.
We suggest a Group Collection to cover transfer drivers, and hotel staff of €20.00 per person. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, or taxi fares, your Tour Leader can advise of an appropriate percentage on.
Compulsory vaccinations: None.
