Serbia is a land of tranquillity and noise, of peace and conflict, and of spirit and science where old and new clash in the most bizarre – and brilliant – ways. Best of all, this landlocked country in the heart of the Balkans is still delightfully off the tourist trail.

After arriving at Belgrade Airport, we will transfer to our hotel in Zlatibor (3.5 hours) with a stop at a local restaurant where we will have a Solos welcome drink and dinner.

  • Accommodation 4 * Hotel Mir, Zlatibor
  • MEALS Dinner included

After breakfast at the hotel we will start a full day excursion to the beautiful Uvac Lake. We will enjoy a boat ride until we arrive at the Ice Cave. Its name comes from the fact that it never gets warmer than 8°C even in the peak of the summer. The Ice Cave has about 10 rooms and it is very spacious with high ceiling but only some rooms can be visited on our tour. Having a cardigan or a jacket while you are inside of the cave would be very useful. The other useful thing would be to bring a strong light if you plan to take the photos as this cave does not have any artificial lighting.

Our next stop is Molitva Viewpoint where we can enjoy stunning views before returning to Zlatibor. Overnight Zlatibor.

  • Accommodation 4 * Hotel Mir, Zlatibor
  • MEALS All meals included

After breakfast we will transfer to the Nature Park Mokra Gora where we will take a traditional train through 22 tunnels and over 5 bridges. This train connected Belgrade with Sarajevo from 1925 until 1974.

Our next stop is the traditional village of Drvengrad, also known as Küstendorf and Mećavnik that the Serbian film director Emir Kusturica built for his film Life Is a Miracle. It is in the Zlatibor District near the city of Užice,

We will see iconic places such as Republic Square, Belgrade Gathering Church, the oldest Inn in Belgrade, Kalemegdan Fortress, President Tito Mausoleum and Temple of Saint Sava. Later we will do Rakia tasting, organised by Urban Belgrade distillery.

After lunch we continue our tour to Zemun, Belgrade’s most atmospheric quarter. This picturesque neighbourhood on the Danube’s right bank was formerly a separate town, located across the river from central Belgrade. Apart from gorgeous architecture, Zemun’s other defining feature is its small-town atmosphere. Overnight Belgrade.

We will see the Old Matica Srpska Library and Gallery (from the outside) and the intricate and iconic art inside the Orthodox Cathedral. Our next stop is the Petrovaradin Fortress (steps involved) and Sremski Karlovici Town, where we will have wine tasting and traditional lunch at the Museum of Beekeeping and Wine Cellar.

Useful Information

Passports & Visas
British passport holders don’t need a visa to visit Serbia for up to 90 days. For further information on entry and exit requirements, contact the Serbian Embassy in London.

If you are not a British citizen and do not hold a British passport, you must make your own enquiries as to the applicable requirements. Alternatively, you can apply for your Visa with our preferred partner the Travel Visa company by selecting the following link; Travel Visa Company.

Your passport should be valid for the proposed duration of your stay. No additional period of validity beyond this is required.

Transfer Time
The transfer time from Belgrade Airport to the hotel in Zlatibor is approximately 3.5 hours, depending on weather and traffic.

Gratuities
We suggest a Group Collection to cover guides, transfer drivers, and hotel staff of £30.00 per person. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, or taxi fares, your Tour Leader can advise of an appropriate % to add on.
