We also visit the local church, amphitheatre and square before continuing our descent down to Cala Deiá. Cala Deiá is a tiny, picturesque cove beach, made up mostly of small pebbles and large rocks. DAY 3

Postman's Route, Esporles to Banyalbufar

Today we transfer to the mountain village of Esporles, a pretty village that retains much of its original charm, with typical stone faced houses and winding streets. Here we begin the popular hiking ‘Old Postman’s Route’.

The Camí Des Correu (Post Road) is the royal road with medieval roots dating to 1401, and connects Esporles with Banyalbufar. Until the 19th Century, this public path was the only means of communication between the two towns and, from there, with Palma. But after the current road between Esporles and Banyalbufar was inaugurated, the path was abandoned. The Consell de Mallorca restored it in 1999 and included it in the path network of the Ruta de Piedra en Seco.

The route runs through holm oak forests and has wonderful views of the Serra de Tramuntana coast.

We spend today however we wish. We can kick back and relax at the hotel, making use of its facilities, such as its pools, bars or even the wellness and spa area. The sandy beach of Palma Nova is a short walk away, or we can explore the city of Palma, known as the ‘pearl of the Mediterranean,’ which is 15km away and is perfect for a day trip. The capital of the island boasts the huge Santa María Cathedral, a Gothic landmark from the 13th Century which overlooks the Bay of Palma.

  • Breakfast & Dinner Included
DAY 5

Valldemosa circular route

This morning, we transfer to the hilltop village of Valldemossa. From there, we begin a small circular route taking us to the Hermitage of Valldemossa. We see the ruins of the ‘ermites velles’ chapel and cross several oak forests. Whilst walking, we’ll find numerous remains of different typical constructions of old professions linked to the rural world in the Serra de Tramuntana, such as lime kilns or coal bunkers. This walk is a route through the trades of the forest.

Deia to Soller

We begin the day with breakfast before heading to the outskirts of Deia. Today’s beautiful walk begins on the outside of the village, walking to the beautiful old traditional town of Soller. On this walk, we witness some fabulous viewpoints of the coast and Soller itself.

We can also enjoy some free time in Soller, which sits in the heart of the ‘valley of oranges’. The main square – Plaza de la Constitución – is Soller’s beating heart, which is lined with numerous bars and cafés. We board a wooden train, known locally as the ‘Orange Express’, for a scenic journey down to Palma.
