What you'll be doing

DAY 1

Arrival in Wroclaw

Welcome to Poland! We will take our transfer to our centrally located hotel and enjoy a welcome drink. On this first evening we gather to enjoy a dinner at the hotel.

DAY 2

Wroclaw

After breakfast we meet our English speaking guide at our hotel and start a walking tour of Wroclaw – the city of 100 bridges. Its rich history and medieval character attracts millions of tourists every year. We will start at 13th century Cathedral of St. John the Baptist located on Ostrow Tumski island – the oldest part of Wroclaw. From there we walk along the scenic banks of the Odra river and climb “Polish Hill” which from the top offers spectacular views over the city. We stroll around medieval cobblestone streets leading into the Market Square, one of the largest cobbled plazas in Europe, which bordered by old tenement houses with the gothic Town Hall in the centre. We continue on to vist the Aula Leopoldina with its baroque features which is part of at Wroclaw University which is one of 35 academic institutions of the city.

DAY 3

Ksiaz Castle & Church of Peace in Swidnica

We have a busy day ahead of us as following breakfast and check out we head to explore the famous spots of Lower Silesia Region. We will travel by private coach to the Church of Peace in Swidnica, the largest timber-framed religious buildings in Europe which is a listed UNESCO World Heritage Site. This unique, richly decorated church was erected by the Silesian protestants in the 17th century, after the “Thirty-Year” war. We then travel by private coach again to visit the magnificent Ksiaz Castle, the third largest in Poland which dates back to 13th century. During our visit we will have the chance to admire decorative antique interiors, the towers and French style terraces. A pleasant stroll through the ornate gardens surrounding the castle is not to be missed.

DAY 4

Poznan

Wake up to breakfast at the hotel before joining a guided walking tour of Poznan in a winter scenery. This will include numerous beautiful places and buildings which includes: Mickiewicz Square with the Collegium Maius building, The Opera House, Mickiewicz University, The magnificent Imperial Castle. We then  explore the picturesque Srodka district with its gothic Cathedral on the island of Ostrow Tumski which is considered to be the place of baptism of Poland in 966. We then cross the Chrobry Bridge and enjoy a splendid Old Town famous for the renaissance Town Hall dominating over the Market Square. Walk along charming streets. Discover the impressive baroque church and the Franciscan Church with a miniature model of old Poznan. Reach the Freedom Square surrounded by 19th century historical buildings: National Museum, Raczynski Library, Bazar Hotel and Arcadia.

DAY 5

Departure Day

After breakfast we’ll have some more free time to explore Poznan further before transferring to the airport for our return flight home. Enjoy your free time and in the winter Poznan. Strolling, choosing Christmas decorations, looking for original gifts, buy local products to share them at the Christmas table, and tasting typical snacks, accompanied by hot wine, beer, or with tea flavoured with spices and fruits of the season – are some of the activities Poland offers during Christmas time.
