Today we take an overnight flight from London to Male.

Welcome to the Maldives! The Yasawa Princess will be anchored just off of Villigili, which is a convenient 20 minutes boat ride from Male International Airport. You will be greeted on arrival and the Guest Arrivals Officer will assist you to the boat’s private tender for your transfer. On arrival to the boat you will be helped with your check in and there will be a welcome briefing including safety procedures and an introduction to your Yasawa Princess cruise experience. During this informal session you will meet guests onboard, the dive team and the crew members who will assist you throughout your cruising holiday. This will be followed by a pre-dinner cocktail on the bar/restaurant deck where you'll be able to watch the sunset over the Indian Ocean.

Today we depart from Male and cross the Vaadhoo Channel to South Male’ Atoll. We'll spend the morning and afternoon visiting the beautiful Sand Bank (Kalhuhuraa), where you can relax and soak up the sun and take a dip in the warm Indian Ocean. *Beach umbrellas will be placed on the sand bank for some shade.

Diving : Vaagali Caves & Vaagali Thila
Vaagali Caves – This is an easy divesite located outside the picnic island Vaagali. Some Overhangs along the wall, lot of schooling fish and Napoleons, Whitetips and Sting rays can be spotted.
Vaagali Thila – Large Pinnacle in Vaagali Chanel, with beautiful coral and fish life. With incoming current there is a good possibility of sighting schooling sharks cruising in the current.

This morning and afternoon, we will visit Rannali, a small boutique resort island located on the western edge of South Male’ Atoll with easy access to the surrounding reef for snorkelling. Spa and other facilities can be booked directly on the resort.

Diving : Guraidhoo Corner & Villivaru Giri
Guraidhoo Corner – one of the best dive sites in South Male atoll. With its current coming in to the atoll you will see Grey Reefs, White Tipped Reef Sharks, Schooling Eagle Rays and Dog Tooth Tunas passing by.

In the early morning we will cross the channel into Vaavu Felidu Atoll to reach Alimatha Sand bank (approx 5hrs) located on the Eastern Edge of the Atoll. A big turquoise lagoon surrounds this sand bar and an attractive reef to snorkel. The whole day will be spent on this sand bank and lunch will be served on the boat. Sun umbrellas will be placed for shade if the conditions are favourable.

Optional: Night Snorkelling Session on Alimatha Resort House Reef, this excursion has been one of the favourites among our guests. Huge Nurse Sharks, Sting Rays & Travallys can be spotted throughout this experience. There is a charge of $15.00.

Diving : Miyaru Kandu & Devana Kandu
Miyaru Kandu – Channel Dive, where you cross the channel from one side to the other looking out for larger pelagic like Sharks and Eagle rays passing by.
Devana Kandu – Narrow Channel with a reef in the middle. Ideal for Big Fish, like sharks, Napoleon and Eagle Rays. Turtles can be also sighted on the shallower part of the dive.

In the morning we'll cruise to Anbaraa, a small picnic island located on the north-western side of Vaavu Atoll that has easy access to the reef for snorkelers. Tonight, enjoy an evening BBQ - the crew will set up a dinner under the stars on the beach. This is probably one of the favourite and most memorable evenings of our cruise. The chefs will prepare a Maldivian beach BBQ with drinks and music, whilst you enjoy the amazing beauty and a spot of stargazing.

Diving : Rakeedhoo Kandu
Rakeedhoo Kandu – This corner of the Rakeedhoo channel offers weel grown hard coral and overhangs, covered with soft corals on the roof. Bigger Pelagic fish can be spotted.

After an early morning crossing the channel, we'll arrive in South Ari Atoll (approx. 6hrs)

Oshagali Finolhu - Tender will be ready as soon as we reach this sandbank in South Ari Atoll. The reef surrounding the sandbank has lot of healthy hard corals which snorkelers love. Lunch will be served on the boat and you will return to the sand bank in the afternoon.

Diving : Kuda Rah Thila & Hudhu Thila
Kuda Rah Thila – Thisis a protected dive site and is a small pinnacle with the top reef starting at around 16m with soft corals and overhangs. Thousands of Blue Stripped Snappers can be found at the top of this reef.
Machafushi Wreck – This is the only Wreck in the region, a purposely sunk, small cargo freighter. Lots of Coral Has grown on the top making it an healthy artificial reef. Lots of Glass fish can bew found inside the crevices. Lion fish, scorpion and stone fishes can be also be spotted.

Today we will take a short cruise from Oshagali to Ariadhoo. Ariadhoo is an agricultural island with lots of plantation. There is access to a sand stretch to relax, with easy access to the ocean for swimming and snorkelling.

Optional whale shark excursion: Guests will go out on the dive dhoni in search of these gentle giants. This region in the Maldives has the highest probability of finding the whale shark. (charge USD15). In the late afternoon we will visit Maamagili, where we will experience the local lifestyle. This is also a good opportunity to do some souevnir shopping for the loved ones.

Diving: Maamagili Corner/Kudadhoo Beyru. Both dive sites are outside of the atoll easy wall dives, with the chance of spotting a whale shark.

The boat will be anchored off Maamagili which is where the domestic airport is situated for any mid cruise arrivals/departures. At least one excursion will be provided to guests staying onboard for the following week.

Hurasdhoo is a small deserted island with a white sandy beach surrounding the island. Beach umbrellas will be placed if the conditions are favourable.

Optional Manta Ray excursion: Guests will go out to Rangali Madivaru, a manta ray cleaning station. Peak Season (January –April) (charge USD15)

Diving : Angaga Thila & Aiyabe Thila
Angaga Thila – Small pinnacle with a top reef of 6-8 Meters. Turtles feed on the corals on the top reef while sharks cruise in the current.
Aiyabe Thila – 100m Long Pinnacle - we only dive one side of this pinnacle, a large overhang covers the edge of the reef with beautiful hard and soft corals. Sharks can be spotted if there is a drift.

Embudu is a small deserted island on the western edge of the atoll, with few plantation and a long stretch of white sandy beach.

Morning and afternoon excursions are arranged, and if conditions are favourable Beach Umbrellas are placed for shade on the beach. The House reef of the island is good for snorkelling, and with a bit of luck you might find turtles or Eagle rays passing by.

Diving: Moofushi Kandu & Embudu Thila
Moofushi Kandu – A Channel dive with a Manta Cleaning Station. Lots of fish Life, and with the incoming current Grey Greef Sharks, White Tips, and Eagle rays can be spotted in front of the channel.

Raiydhigaa - This is a picnic island with a natural harbour. The reef surrounding the island has an enclosed lagoon with 2 narrow channels for vessels to enter. This island has a long white sandy beach on one end. Snorkelers can easily swim from the beach to deeper water. A full day will be spent on the Island, with a picnic Lunch which will be prepared by our Chefs. Guests will be taken back to the boat at 1600Hrs and will return to the island at 1900Hrs for the BBQ Evening. There will be music and entertainment after Dinner.

Diving : Dega Thila & Miyaru Gaa Thila
Dega Thila – A Macro fans dream, 2 coral formations separated from the main reef full with soft corals and schooling fish. Leaf Fishes & Ghost Pipe fishes can be spotted with a bit of luck.
Miyaru Gaa Thila – Small pinnacle with a top reef of 5-6 meters, ideal to dive slowly, looking for octopuses, scorpion and lionfish. Sharks and Sting rays can be found resting on the bottom.

Alikoi RahThis is a sandbank located in the centre of Ari Atoll, surrounding a well grown reef. Snorkelers love this house reef as there are lot of fish and turtles and rays can be also be spotted. Morning and afternoon excursions arranged to this sandbank.

Diving : Fish Head / Kandu Thila
Fish Head – underwater pinnacle. Thrilling overhangs and abundance of fish life. One of the best in the region.
Kandu Thila – Narrow submerged reef located inside a very wide channel. Expect to see White Tip and Grey Reef Sharks and Napoleon Wrasse

Maayafushi Sandbank - This is a large sand bank located at the northern edge of Ari Atoll. Flocks of common Seabirds can be found on this sand bar. Reef with lots of nice coral and fish for snorkelling. Sun Umbrellas will be setup if the conditions are favourable.

Diving : Maaya Thila / Bathalaa Maaga Kan
Maaya Thila - one of the most famous night dive site in the Maldives, Sharks and Sting Rays hunt at this site at night.
Bathala Maagaa Kan - an extension of the reef sloping down inside a channel, with large pelagics crossing the channel.

Cross Alihuras Kandu heading back to Male’. Enjoy a final swim in the warm Indian ocean - you will stop at a sand bar on our way back to Male’. The journey from North Ari Atoll to Male’ will take around 4-5hrs. Once we reach Male’ our dhoni will be ready to take you to Male’ the capital of Maldives, where you can visit the local market, wander around and have an ice cream or do some shopping for souvenirs.

Yasawa Princess

As the only cruise ship operating in the Maldives for leisure travellers, including divers and non-divers, Yasawa Princess promises to serve above and beyond your expectations. Accommodating no more than 60 guests at one time, the ship provides an intimate and informal atmosphere on board. Its comfortable interior and friendly crew make it a superb way of visiting the unspoilt islands of the Maldives.

The Yasawa Princess

The ship offers a comfortable, friendly and relaxed experience, where the dress code is casual throughout. The dining area and main bar are on B deck where there is also a small air-conditioned lounge with comfy settees, a large LCD TV and DVD player. Beach towels are provided every day of snorkelling and there are sun loungers on the top deck. There is a small laundry room with free use of washing machines and a tumble dryer, perfect for light packing. There are no more than 66 guests at any one time, providing for a very informal atmosphere onboard. The official dress code is shorts and swimwear during the day and casual dress in the evenings both onboard and on the deserted islands, where beautiful soft white sand makes shoes optional.

Facilities

During our time in the Maldives, there are plenty of distractions to keep us busy. Perhaps snorkel, swim and sunbathe at Kuda Bandos. On Velidhu there is time to indulge in a spa treatment (extra charge). On the desert island and diver's haven of Meerufenfushi spend the day snorkelling or watching the colourful tropical fish from an optional glass-bottom boat ride. Divers can also enjoy two dives here. On the inhabited island of Hagnameedhoo there's a chance to do some sightseeing and shopping if you wish. There is also the opportunity to dive in the morning and again in the afternoon! Enjoy a picnic lunch and afternoon BBQ and diving around the island of Dhiggiri. There are opportunities for shopping and sightseeing in Male, Maafushi and Mahibadhoo. From Theluveligaa take a ride on the glass bottom boat to see the wonderful corals and aquatic life. So, together with the added marine slide shows, bridge and card games during the evenings, night fishing (the spoils of which may be dished up the next day) and the Captains Dinner each week, the time will magically fly by.

Lower Main Deck (12 Cabins): situated on the lower deck of the ship but slightly larger with a double bed or twin beds with porthole.

A Deck (14 Cabins): situated on the middle deck of the ship, with a double bed or twin beds deck window and door opening onto an outside walkway.

Bridge Deck (7 Cabins): situated at the very top of the ship next to the Sun Deck, with a double bed or twin beds, deck window and door opening onto an outside walkway.
