About this holiday

Day 1 - Welcome to India. We join our group and fly from London to Delhi where we are greeted by our Local Tour Leader upon arrival and transferred to our hotel. Overnight Delhi (D)

Day 2 - Discover the sights of Old and New Dehli. In the morning we enjoy a sightseeing tour of Old Delhi with a visit to the Raj Ghat memorial to Gandhi followed by a drive past the magnificent Red Fort, built when the Mughal Empire was at its peak. Our tour continues by bicycle rickshaw to Jama Masjid, one of Asia’s largest mosques viewed from the outside and to the markets of Chandi Chowk. In the afternoon we set out for New Dehli visiting first the Qutub Minar and Humayun’s tomb, the first garden-tomb in India before driving the imposing India Gate, the Parliament building and the Rastrapathi Bhawan - the President's residence designed by Edwin Lutyens. Overnight Delhi (B)

Day 3 - Travel from Dehli to Agra. In the morning we travel to Agra by coach (approx 5 hours). Later we enjoy a sightseeing tour of Agra and Taj Mahal. The Taj Mahal is truly one of the wonders of the world. Built in 1630 by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jehan the Taj Mahal is tomb for his Queen Mumtaz Mahal. At Agra Fort we see the crafting of the white marble that has made the area so famous, the Pearl Mosque, the halls of Public and Private Audience, and finally the tomb of Itmad-ud-daula built by the Empress Noorjehan. Overnight Agra (B)

Day 4 - Travel from Agra - Ranthambore. Today we will be transferred to Bharatput Railway Station for our train to Ranthambore. Before our train journey, we will stop off for lunch at the beautiful and regal Laxmi Vilas Palace. Upon arrival in Ranthambore, the rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight Ranthambore (B, L, D)

Day 5 - Ranthambore. Today we will have Morning and afternoon game drives at the Ranthambore National Park. This wildlife sanctuary is home to a variety of animals including Tigers, Leopards, Hyenas, birds, reptiles, flora and more! Overnight Ranthambore (B, L, D)

Day 6 - Travel from Ranthambore to Jaipur. This morning we will have a final game drive. After breakfast we will travel to Jaipur by coach (approx 4 hours). The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight Jaipur (B)

Day 7 - Jaipur and the Amber Fort. In the morning we visit the Amber built in red and white sandstone by Raja Man Singh in 16th century. The Amber Fort is an elaborate structure that has massive gardens along with elaborately built gateways, pavilions, temples and beautiful palaces elaborately decorated with exquisite carvings and mirror work. To access the fort, we ascend a steep path by jeep. In the evening we enjoy dinner at the hotel/local restaurant. Overnight Jaipur (B, D)

Day 8 - Jaipur. Today, we drive though the famous Johari Bazaar of the city to the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), a major landmark of the city. Its pyramid-shaped facade has five stories with 953 small windows decorated with tiny lattice work. We visit the rich and prosperous museums inside the elegant City Palace Complex. Outside we see the Jantar Mantar Observatory with its range of ancient astronomical instruments. Overnight Jaipur (B)

Day 9 - Travel from Jaipur – Udaipur. In the morning we travel to Udaipur by coach (approx 7 hours) stopping enroute for lunch at the beautiful Bijay Niwas Palace. Upon arrival in Udaipur, the rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight Udaipur (B, L)

Day 10 - Udaipur. In the morning, our sightseeing tour takes us to the City Palace, a majestic architectural marvel towering over the lake on a hill surrounded by crenellated walls, courtyards, pavilions, terraces, corridors, rooms and hanging gardens. We stroll the beautiful Garden of the Maidens (Sahelion ki Bari), adorned with luscious pools, colourful fountains and exotic plants once popular with the royal ladies. In the evening we enjoy dinner at the hotel/local restaurant. Overnight Udaipur (B, D)

Day 11 - Travel from Udaipur – Mumbai. Today we fly from Udaipur to Mumbai where we are transferred to the airport for our homebound flight. (B)
