About this holiday

Based in Hythe, our walking holiday on Kent’s “Garden Coast” takes in views across the Channel and soaking up some glorious scenery.

Our full day’s walk on Saturday begins from Dover Castle as we make our way over to Langdon Cliffs overlooking Dover Harbour. Owned by the National Trust, the cliffs are a spectacular natural feature and often described as one of the most spectacular places in the UK to walk. Following tracks and footpaths with far reaching views over to France, we then head along the Saxon Shore Way over to the South Foreland Lighthouse warning ships of the notorious Goodwind Sands. It’s then onto St Margaret’s Bay for lunch (additional cost). Continuing along the cliff top to Kingsdown we begin to wend our way down to sea level and along the coastal path passing Walmer Castle and onto Deal perhaps for an ice cream on the pier!

Sundays walk heads out from the hotel through the town and out into the countryside above. We take in views of the surrounding scenery following a part of the Elham Valley Way through Sene Wood and out with views of the North Downs. Heading into ancient woodland before crossing to Seabrook Valley and uphill passing Shorncliffe Military Cemetery containing graves of soldiers from both world wars. Our track continues down to sea level for a stop for lunch (additional cost) before on to the Royal Military Canal and back to the hotel.
