From the land that brought you Robots and Rubik’s Cubes, greetings from Czechia! Formerly the Czech Republic, Czechoslovakia and Bohemia.
You are invited to join us on a splendid walking tour taking us through this stunning region’s rich and varied history, amongst areas and landscapes that feel impossibly untouched and unspoilt. Our trip will be a loop starting and finishing in iconic Prague, an amazing destination in its own right, and from there we will visit three pristine regions of natural beauty; ‘Bohemian Switzerland National Park & Saxon Switzerland’, ‘Adršpach-Teplice Rocks Nature Reserve’ and ‘Bohemian Paradise’.
An unmissable escorted walking tour for those seeking wonder, nature and incredible views!
Extras
Welcome to Czechia! Upon arrival at Prague Airport, we transfer to our centrally located hotel.
After check-in, we will meet for welcome drinks followed by dinner at our hotel where we can get to know our fellow travellers.
After breakfast at our hotel, we will be met by our local guide who will take us on a walking tour to discover historic Prague, taking in some of the most beautiful sights the city has to offer.
We’ll begin the morning heading to Prague Castle, one of the largest castle complexes in the world and an ancient symbol of the Czech state. This will include the opulent interiors of the St. Vitus Cathedral, the Old Royal Palace with its late gothic Vladislav Hall, the St. George Basilica and the picturesque Golden Lane.
After breakfast at our hotel, we take a private coach north towards the German border and the region of Bohemian/Saxon Switzerland. We will arrive at the small village of Mezna from where we take a short river boat cruise along the Kamenice, a tributary of the Elba River and through the beautiful Divoka (Wild) gorge. This scenic cruise will give us the chance to relax, take in the idyllic scenery and enjoy the sound of the surrounding nature, with the tinkle of small waterfalls feeding the river.
From there we will travel to Pravcicka Brana, a stunning landscape of sandstone and forests with its spectacular natural arch which is well worth a photo stop.
After breakfast, we leave Prague and head east towards the Polish border to the Adrspach Rocks where we will spend the afternoon.
Entering the Adršpach-Teplice Rocks Nature Reserve is like walking into a prehistoric world of giants! A winding trail takes you through a densely packed crowd of towering, sandstone columns the tallest of which, ‘The Lovers’ reaches over 80 metres into the sky. In places, the path between these rock goliaths squeezes to just half a metre across. We’ll also discover the 16 metre high Great Waterfall and a picturesque lake with crystal clear water.
After breakfast at our hotel, we head back to the Adršpach-Teplice Rocks Nature Reserve for a hiking tour amongst the Teplicke Rocks, on circuit in a different section of the reserve than the one we visited the day before.
Visitors can explore the rocks on foot, taking in the stunning views of the surrounding landscape and marvelling at the intricate patterns and shapes that nature has etched on the moss covered stone.
Don’t miss the exciting and strenuous climb up a set of ladders to the ruins of Střmen Castle. The viewing platform allows breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside.
Today, we leave our hotel in the Hradec Region and head to The Bohemian Paradise, a picturesque region situated 90km approximately North of Prague.
Being a unique combination of natural forest, sandstone rock clusters, spectacular landscapes, historical sites and rural architecture, the area is well deserving of its listing as a Geo-Park by UNESCO. When we arrive, we will first visit the village of Hruba Skala for the panoramic vistas on offer there. Then we will visit the uniquely situated ruins of Trosky Castle, perched on two separate basalt outcrops which are the remnants of a long extinct volcano.
Today we can enjoy some free time in the city of Prague. The perfect chance to explore this fascinating city, making the most of the countless options for presents and souvenir shopping or just relax at the hotel.
This evening, we enjoy a farewell dinner at the local restaurant and get the chance to taste traditional Czech cuisine, beer and wine as well as a show of local folk music with traditional dancers.
We sadly say goodbye to Bohemian Czechia and transfer to the airport for our flight home.

Three guided walks are included in the programme. Your walking guide will advise you in resort of the daily programme. The walking programme is graded as Medium and you can expect to walk between 7 to 10 km per day, with some ascents/descents and some rough underfoot terrain as well as number of stairs.
The distances for each walk are outlined in the day by day itinerary, however please bear in mind these are approximate and subject to change due to local conditions.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you are fit and well enough to take part in your chosen activity holiday. If you are unsure as to whether the walks are within your capabilities, please contact the office to discuss this matter, thus making sure you appreciate the terrain that you will be walking.
You could be walking across uneven ground in some areas and extreme care must be taken, especially if wet. If used to using a pole/stick, it is advisable to bring it. Please appreciate the route and content of the holiday may change at the time and at the discretion of the guide/organiser, should conditions require. Solo’s Holidays Ltd cannot be held responsible for personal injury, accident or damage to property whilst on these walks other than incidents arising out of the company’s negligence. The guide has the right to refuse to guide a walk with anyone not properly attired.
It is of paramount importance that you have the correct footwear. It is essential to wear walking boots that are comfortable and preferably lightweight, with some ankle support and a good grip. If you already have a pair of boots that you are happy walking in (including during hot/wet weather and on hard ground), then bring these along. However, if you are bringing new footwear, do make sure they are well broken in before you arrive. Experience has shown that wearing 2 pairs of woollen socks adds to comfort.
We suggest a Group Collection to cover transfer drivers, and hotel staff of €25 per person. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, or taxi fares, your Tour Leader can advise of an appropriate % add on.
