The land of the safari; Kenya is where solo travellers come to see wildlife in abundance. Migrating herds of wildebeest, flamingos in their thousands and the elusive Big Five makes Kenya an explorer’s dream. Set your sights on the views of Mount Kilimanjaro at the Amboseli National Park, meet a traditional Maasai tribe or relax on the white sands of Diani Beach. Vast savannahs against a horizon stretching for miles, Kenya provides a singles holiday with all things wild and wonderful.
Experience Kenyan wildlife right in front of your eyes at the national parks and sanctuaries, as well as a spectacular view of the African landscape. However, it doesn’t always have to be about the African Safari, Kenya has mountains to climb and white sandy beaches to relax on, perfect for a great solo traveller adventure.
Did you know that Kenya was actually named after Mount Kenya – not the other way around! Mount Kenya is the second tallest mountain in Africa and developed its name when indigenous people called the mountain “Mount Kenia” which translated to “the mountain that shines” due to it being often capped with snow, even in its tropical climate.
I was so nervous about embarking on my first Solos Holiday, but I shouldn’t have been – it was the best thing I have ever done!
