“I’m sat at my desk In Birmingham looking out at the building work and listening to my colleagues report back on how miserable the weather is outside! Like you, I am sick of wearing a coat and all I want is to feel some sun on my face. This time last year I was looking forward to a trip to Corfu – my first trip as a solo traveller without my husband. I recall feeling nervous, wondering how on earth I was going to travel and have the responsibility of looking after my own passport without losing it!”

The Aronda Apartments are perfectly located for a day lazing round the pool with a good book. Ideal for a short stroll to the beach lined with its beach bars and restaurants. To the right of the bus stop outside the apartments, there’s also a coffee shop – the Caramel Iced Latte is the perfect caffeine hit before a day in the Greek sunshine!
One of my favourite places to visit in Corfu is the old town where the Venetian influence is really prominent, and it is truly charming place to have a wander around. I enjoyed a G&T overlooking the town whilst watching the sunset.
I enjoyed 3 meals at the Aronda apartments – Kiki and her homemade cooking is well worth a visit to Corfu alone. The poolside BBQ with a plentiful variety of Greek meats accompanied by Greek salad, Hummus, Olives and Spanakopita Pie…. Oh my gosh the pie is delicious and treat I went on to enjoy in Santorini and Crete last year!
I have really fond memories from my Greek travels last year – however Corfu was the most authentic Greek experience for me. From the Greek tavernas, the boat trip with beach BBQ, to the trip to the Monastery in Palaiokastritsa, I had the most fabulous time and I wouldn’t hesitate returning in a heartbeat.. especially for the Tzatziki Lays and a Mythos around the pool.
