Our Summer Solos break in Blackpool is based at the four-star Imperial Hotel Blackpool overlooking Blackpool Beach and the Irish Sea. Join your fellow solo travellers for a three night break that offers a classic tram ride along Blackpool Seafront, along with time to visit iconic attractions such as the Blackpool Tower and famous Ballroom.
Following an afternoon check-in at the Imperial Hotel Blackpool, we meet this evening for our welcome drink followed by dinner at the hotel.
After breakfast, we enjoy a traditional tram ride that will take us north along Blackpool’s famous promenade heading towards the fishing town of Fleetwood. In Fleetwood, we’ll have the opportunity for a stop off to perhaps enjoy freshly caught Fish & Chips and visit the Maritime Museum. On the return leg of our tour, we’ll travel back to North Pier and enjoy scenic views of the Fylde Coast.
Once back in Blackpool, we have the afternoon at leisure to enjoy all this traditional seaside town has to offer. Our hotel is a 15 minute walk from the famous Blackpool Tower and pier.
After breakfast, we will meet with our blue badge guide Steven who will be waiting to greet us at the Tourist Information Centre on the main promenade, just a short 10–15 minute stroll from our hotel. Our two hour guided tour is an immersive experience, taking in many of the iconic sights that Blackpool is famous for. We will hear the history and heritage of the town, including the Blackpool Tower, Blackpool Winter Gardens and The Grand Theatre, great examples of Victorian architecture.
Once the guided tour has concluded, we have time to further explore these famous sights before heading back to the hotel to get ready for dinner.
After a leisurely breakfast, it’s time to check-out and say our fond farewells.
Located on the Blackpool Seafront, close to the north Pier, our hotel first opened in 1867 and combines original character with modern comforts.
Facilities include a bar, restaurant and terrace with views of the Irish Sea.
Our en suite rooms feature a TV, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer and Wi-Fi.
The hotel is accessible from Junction 32 of the M6 (follow signs to Blackpool on the M55) and Blackpool train station is 0.5 miles away. Car parking is available at £9 per day.
The dress code for during the day is casual. Comfortable shoes for walking and sightseeing are recommended. In the evenings the dress code is smart, casual.
There is often confusion on the question of gratuities, since it frequently depends on the type of holiday, location and, of course, your attitude towards tipping, as to what is normally expected. In order to give you a rough idea, we have given appropriate guidance below.
The Tour Leader will be on hand to offer advice or suggestions if required but gratuities are offered entirely at the sole discretion of the individual. We suggest a group collection at the beginning of your holiday to cover drivers, guides and hotel staff (including restaurant, kitchen and reception staff) of approximately £15. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of bar staff and housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (the rounding up of the drinks bill and a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, restaurants expect a 10% gratuity (do check that service has not already been added to your bill). For taxis 10% of the metered fare.
