Our local guide will lead us on a walking tour through the heart of the city where we will see traces of its long history from Roman and Medieval eras, through to the Gothic and Scaligera periods. The guided tour of the old town showcases the majestic Castelvecchio castle and the Arco dei Gavi (Gavi’s arch). We stroll along Corso Cavour, see Juliet’s House, Piazza delle Erbe, Piazza dei Signori and Piazza Brà with the Arena.
Next stop Casa Sartori family-owned winery in Pedemonte. We will start with a walk through the park of Casa Sartori, to then reach the historic vineyard Corte Brà, the first bought by the family; the tour will then bring you down to our cellars to discover the winemaking process among vats and barrels. After the tour, we sit down to a guided tasting of three of their most iconic wines: Marani(white), Saltari (ripasso), Reius (Amarone), served with handcrafted chocolate bites.

Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, or taxi fares, your Tour Leader can advise of an appropriate % add on.
