Out & About!
Visit the cliff top village of Guadalest
Relax in the hotel gardens and bar with a good book!
Join us this Winter on a Solos Costa Blanca week away. We stay in the ever popular resort of Benidorm on the eastern coast of Spain. Once a tiny fishing village until the 1960s, it’s now one of the most famous and popular Mediterranean holiday destinations known for its two wide sandy beaches, lined with palm-lined promenades, bars and nightlife.
Popular with British holidaymakers for many years, Benidorm is an exciting year round resort. Our hotel enjoys a wonderful position overlooking Levante Beach and a short walk to the Old Town. The streets around our hotel are full of shops, bars and restaurants, plenty to keep us entertained.
Time away from the hotel and resort is also on offer with plenty to see on a day out. Why not visit Guadalest’s thousand-plus years of history with a visit to the cliff top village or take in the highlights of the city of Valencia and its museums and markets? Or closer to our hotel home, simply wander the streets of Benidorm’s old town with its quaint shops and cafes.
Hotel Cimbel is situated in an enviable position over-looking the sandy Levante Beach. The streets around Hotel Cimbel are full of shops and lively bars with the old town a 600m stroll away along the promenade.
The hotel offers an outdoor swimming pool and hot tub, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. You can enjoy Mediterranean cuisine at the Cimbel’s restaurant. WIFI is available throughout the hotel.
Our city view rooms have a private balcony and each bright room includes flat-screen satellite TV and a minibar. The marble bathrooms come with a hairdryer and toiletries.
The transfer from the Airport to the resort is approximately 45 minutes depending on traffic.

The Tour Leader will be on hand to offer advice or suggestions if required but gratuities are offered entirely at the sole discretion of the individual.
We suggest a group collection at the end of your holiday to cover drivers, guides, porters and hotel staff (including restaurant, kitchen and reception staff) of approximately €15 (or the equivalent amount in local currency). Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of bar staff and housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (the rounding up of the drinks bill and a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated).
As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, restaurants expect a 10Ͽratuity (do check that service has not already been added to your bill). For taxis 10% of the metered fare.
Casual, cotton, lightweight daytime wear is the order of the day. Comfortable shoes are a must for sightseeing. Smart casual clothes will be ideal for the evening, with the emphasis throughout being informal but with no shorts or vests in the restaurants in the evenings. Early and late season evenings can be cool so do ensure that you take a cardigan or jacket and even some rainwear.
You may wish to take an optional excursion during the course of your stay. Full details will be given at the Information Meeting. All tours can be paid for in Euros. Your Tour Leader will help arrange these for you but may not necessarily accompany you.
