This pleasurable, links-style course situated at Herdate dos Salgados close to the city of Albufeira, is set next to an attractive nature reserve, home to many endangered bird species. With a long sandy beach on one side and greens and tees located close to each other, makes this a walkable course with impressive views over the Atlantic Ocean.
Due to the sea breeze, a round here is never the same and offers a challenge for even the most practiced golfers. The yellow tees will ensure golfers an even test, while the white tees are recommended for golfers with single-digit handicap.

Set in peaceful parkland within a valley, inland between Portimao and Monchiqu, this par 73 has characteristics of a links course with flat fairways and Scottish inspired bunkers. World Handicap System (WHS )
Handicap Players Only – WHS Handicap 38 or lower
Handicap Index number is required at the time of booking Please advise our reservations team. Alternatively you can add this to the special requirements box on our booking page. If you have a certificate please ensure you take it with you on the trip, this enables the Tour Leader to assess everyone’s ability, so that rounds and competitions can be organised fairly. If you are uncertain about these requirements, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will be happy to advise you.
Clients will most probably find that their golf clubs are covered on their household insurance policy. Most policies cover a single item such as golf clubs for a period out of the country. However, clients should make very sure that they do have adequate cover when taking out a policy.
Most golf clubs have these items available for hire, however this is not always the case, so clients would be advised to check with us beforehand if they have any specific requirements.
Per Round- prices subject to change. The below can be booked in advance and payable in resort
We advise you to use a light golf bag when packing your clubs. We suggest you wrap a towel round the neck of the clubs to protect them and stop them rattling around whilst in transit. It is also important to then place the bag and clubs in an outer carrying bag, which can be purchased from any good golf shop.
Golf attire during the day. We suggest smart casual for the evenings. Gentlemen are required to wear long trousers at dinner.
Golf shoes with soft spikes are required.
We suggest a Group Collection to cover transfer drivers, and hotel staff of €25.00 per person. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, or taxi fares, your Tour Leader can advise of an appropriate % add on.
To enter Portugal or Madeira your passport must meet 2 requirements. It must be:
less than 10 years old on the day you enter (check the ‘date of issue’)
valid for at least 3 months after the day you plan to leave (check the ‘expiry date’)
Check both the issue date and the expiry date in your passport. If you renewed your passport early, extra months may have been added to its expiry date. This could affect the requirement for your passport to be less than 10 years old.
A visa is not required by holders of passports endorsed “British Citizen” for stays of upto 90 days in any 180-day period. Please note that stays in other EU countries counts towards this 90 day period.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the correct visa, a valid passport and any other travel documents for your holiday. All information provided relates to British citizens who hold or are entitled to apply for a British passport. For the most up-to-date visa information please visit; Portugal Foreign Advice
If you are not a British citizen and do not hold a British passport, you must make your own enquiries as to the applicable requirements.
Compulsory vaccinations: None.
