Our Party weekend in Oxford is based at a Solos favourite, the 4* Voco Oxford Spires Hotel centrally located close to historical Oxford. Join us for a weekend that includes dinners, disco dancing both nights and a guided walking tour in historical Oxford.
Extras
Join us on Friday night for a welcome drink, dinner and then a disco to dance the night away.
After breakfast our guided tour takes us through the cobbled streets which weave their way through over 800 years of history. Here we can visit one of the oldest colleges, the Sheldonian Theatre, the Bodleian Library as well as Radcliffe Square and Camera before finishing in the Victorian Covered Market. Afterwards, there is time to explore the city’s attractions or go shopping.
If you are not in a hurry to leave, you may like to take advantage of the hotel’s restaurant and leisure facilities (extra charges may apply in the spa). Rooms should be vacated by 11.00. However, luggage may be left with Reception until you are ready to leave.
Located in 40 acres of stunning parkland, The Oxford Spires is set in a historical-style building. It is the perfect base from which to discover everything that one of the most historic cities in England has to offer.
Facilities at the hotel include restaurant, bar, gym, indoor swimming pool and spa (additional cost)
Our tastefully decorated rooms come with a flat screen TV, tea/coffee making facilities, safe and free WiFi
The Voco Oxford Spires Hotel is located within walking distance of the centre of Oxford. Parking is available at the hotel and is complimentary and easily accessible by car from the A40, M40 and M25. Oxford City Station is approximately 1 mile from the hotel.
There is often confusion on the question of gratuities, since it frequently depends on the type of holiday, location and, of course, your attitude towards tipping, as to what is normally expected. In order to give you a rough idea, we have given appropriate guidance below.
The Tour Leader will be on hand to offer advice or suggestions if required but gratuities are offered entirely at the sole discretion of the individual. We suggest a group collection at the beginning of your holiday to cover drivers, guides and hotel staff (including restaurant, kitchen and reception staff) of approximately £10. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of bar staff and housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (the rounding up of the drinks bill and a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, restaurants expect a 10% gratuity (do check that service has not already been added to your bill). For taxis 10% of the metered fare.
The dress code for during the day is casual. Comfortable shoes for walking and sightseeing are recommended. In the evenings the dress code is smart/party wear with gentlemen requested to wear a shirt and tie.
