Welcome to incredible India! Upon arrival at Delhi International Airport, we’ll proceed through immigration, collect our luggage and transfer to our hotel in Delhi. The rest of the day is free for you to relax after a long flight. In the evening we will have a welcome drink and dinner at our hotel. Overnight Delhi

  • Accommodation 5 * Radisson Blu Hotel Paschim Vihar
  • MEALS Breakfast & Dinner included

After breakfast we will begin our tour of Old and New Delhi. We will start with the old part of Delhi with a drive past the magnificent Red Fort before enjoying a cycle rickshaw ride in the lanes of Chandini Chowk. We will drive past Kotla Firoze Shah, ruins of an old 14th century fort, and visit Raj Ghat, where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated in 1948.

Later we will enjoy a fixed menu Indian lunch at the Chor Bizarre restaurant in Old Delhi. In the afternoon we will explore New Delhi, driving past the Presidential Palace, Rashtrapati, the impressive Rajpath Memorial Arch and the India Gate. We will also visit the Qutub Minar, a 72 meter high minaret! After our guided tour, we will return to our hotel. Overnight Delhi

Please note that driving through the old city of Delhi is subject to traffic restrictions.

  • Accommodation 5 * Radisson Blu Hotel Paschim Vihar
  • MEALS All meals included

After breakfast we will check out from our hotel and leave for the city of Agra – home to the famous Taj Mahal (approx. 4 hour drive).

When we arrive in the afternoon we will visit the historical Agra Fort, which was the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal Dynasty until 1638, when the capital was shifted from Agra to Delhi.

At sunset we will visit the iconic Taj Mahal which is also known as the greatest love story ever told! Often described as one of the wonders of the world, the stunning 17th century white marble mausoleum was built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, who died in childbirth. It took 22 years to build the monument. Overnight Agra

  • Accommodation 5 * Mansingh Palace
  • MEALS Breakfast & Dinner included

After breakfast we will depart to Jaipur, stopping en route to visit Fatehpur Sikri. Also known as a host city, Fatehpur Sikri was built by Emperor Akbar with the intention of being the most beautiful city ever built. For a while it was, but style must have won over substance! Beautiful yes, but no easy access to water. A few years after it was completed, the town was abandoned and the capital moved to Lahore in present-day Pakistan.

We will then continue on our drive to Jaipur (approx. 4 hour drive), arriving in the afternoon. Overnight Jaipur

  • Accommodation 4 * Zone By The Park Jaipur
  • MEALS Breakfast & Dinner included

After breakfast we will go on a half day excursion to Amber Fort, stopping en route at the distinctive landmark of Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) for a great photo opportunity. It was constructed in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh to enable ladies of the royal household to watch the life and processions of the city.

Next on our itinerary is Amber Fort, a honey-coloured fortress-palace in the Aravalli Hills that’s been described as the sleeping beauty of Rajasthan. Made out of sandstone and marble, the fort consists of a series of four courtyards, palaces, halls and gardens.

In the afternoon we will begin our city tour of Jaipur with a visit to Jai Singh’s Observatory. It was built in the 17th century by the founder of Jaipur who, besides being a prince, was also soldier, astronomer and builder. Afterwards we will visit the impressive Jaipur City Palace, one part of which is now a museum that contains fine Rajput and Moghul paintings, rare manuscripts and an armoury, old carpets, and even amazingly embroidered clothes of the Maharajas and the Maharanis. We will finish today’s tour by walking through a local market. Overnight Jaipur

  • Accommodation 4 * Zone By The Park Jaipur
  • MEALS Breakfast & Dinner included

After breakfast we will drive to a very special place called Pushkar (approx. 3 hours).

Pushkar has a magnetism all of its own – it’s quite unlike anywhere else in Rajasthan. It is one of India’s oldest towns and has the Rajasthan-esque charm and beauty yet, it’s also very unique. It’s believed that Brahma had dropped a lotus here, which resulted in the emergence of a holy lake. The lake has turned Pushkar into a pilgrimage.

In the afternoon we will visit Brahma temple, the most prominent temple dedicated to Brahma the creator. We will stop at the sacred lake with adjoining Ghats, where devout Hindus take a sacred bath at least once a year. We will also watch a sacralic Aarti ceremony at Pushkar lake, which is a not-to-miss experience for everyone, believer or non-believer.  Overnight Pushkar

  • Accommodation 3 * Jagat Palace
  • MEALS Breakfast & Dinner included

After breakfast we will drive to Jodhpur (approx. 4 hour drive). When we arrive in the afternoon we will visit the Mehrangarh Fort, which is one of the most magnificent forts in India. The battlements are 6m to 36m high, and as the building materials were chiselled from the rock on which the fort stands, the structure merges with its base. Still run by the Jodhpur royal family, Mehrangarh is packed with history and legends. Overnight Jodhpur

  • Accommodation 4 * Zone By The Park Jodhpur
  • MEALS Breakfast & Dinner included

After breakfast we will drive to Udaipur (approx. 5 hour drive) stopping en route to visit Ranakpur temple which is a Jain temple. Jainism is an Indian religion that emphasizes non-violence and ascetism. The temple is very beautiful and showcases unique temple architecture.

We will continue on our drive to Udaipur. Upon arrival, we’ll proceed to our hotel for check in. Overnight Udaipur

  • Accommodation 4 * Swaroop Vilas
  • MEALS Breakfast & Dinner included

After breakfast we will set off for our half day city tour of Udaipur. The city is also known as Venice of the East and the most romantic city in Rajasthan. We will visit the City Palace, once the home of Mewar’s rulers, which is a museum today. We will also visit Sahelion-ki-bari (Garden of the Maids of Honour) which used to be a chilling place for the princesses. It's covered with the most beautiful trees and flowers, and there are fountains all around.

Later we will drive around Fateh Sagar Lake - an artificial lake named after Maharana Fateh Singh of Udaipur and Mewar, constructed north-west of Udaipur to the north of Lake Pichola in the 1680s. Afterwards we will visit the Jagdish temple. Completed in the mid-1600s, it’s an extraordinary example of Indian architecture with beautiful and ornate carvings in stone.

In the evening we will enjoy a boat ride on Lake Pichola. We will marvel at the glimmering lake, the mountains and the city against the backdrop of a beautiful sunset. Along the way, look out for the historical landmarks dotted along the shore, such as the City Palace Complex and the picturesque Ghats. Overnight Udaipur

Useful Information

Visas

You’ll need to get a visa before travelling to India. You can find further information about how to apply on the Indian High Commission website.

Make sure you get the right visa for your travel and that it’s valid for the purpose and duration of your stay. If you enter India on the wrong visa, you could be detained on arrival and you may be deported and blacklisted, meaning that you can’t enter India again. Make sure you meet entry requirements. Tourist visas can’t be extended while in India.

If you’re applying for an e-visa, check you meet the eligibility criteria. If you do not hold a full ‘British Citizen’ passport, you may not be eligible for an e-visa. You can find out more about this on India’s e-visa website. Beware of fake websites offering this service.

You should be aware that there have been changes made by the Indian Government, on visa formalities for foreigners who are hospitalised in India, when travelling on a short-term tourist visa. If you or someone you are travelling with is travelling on a tourist visa and is hospitalised, we would advise you to immediately get in touch with the local Foreigners Registration Office (FRO) to check if visa conversion is required.

From 1 April 2017, the length of stay on an e-visa has been increased from 30 days to 60 days with double entry on tourist and business e-visa and triple entry on medical e-visas. This means you can stay for or re-enter within 60 days of the date of your first entry into India on your e-visa. However, you must leave the country before your visa expires, irrespective of when or how many times you enter. When you arrive at the airport, your passport will be stamped and an expiry date for your e-visa will be handwritten by an Immigration Officer. Please be aware that 60 days is not automatically equal to two calendar months. Check the date that is written on your passport and make sure you leave the country before your visa expires.

The e-Visa facility is only applicable to nationals of United Kingdom (British Citizens) and is not available to British Subject, British Protected Person, British Overseas Citizen, British National (Overseas) and British Dependent Territories Citizen.

We suggest a Group Collection to cover guides, transfer drivers, and hotel staff of £80.00 per person. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, or taxi fares, your Tour Leader can advise of an appropriate % to add on.

Included Programme

A sightseeing programme is included in your touring package.

Dress Code

The emphasis is on casual clothing for throughout. Go for light, loose cotton clothing and comfortable shoes or walking boots. Conservative dress is preferred for both men and women. No shorts or vest tops in restaurants. When visiting temples and certain museums dress politely; shorts, singlets, spaghetti straps, skirts, tank-tops and open backed sandals are not acceptable. The dress code would be same for men and women, that is shoulders and legs covered, no hats, and shoes to be taken off.

 Please note

  • A reasonable level of fitness/mobility is required as we include plenty of sightseeing/travelling, some with early starts.
  • The order of the itinerary and events may be subject to change
