Extras
Hotel Ola is only a few hundred metres from the sea, located in Seget Donji, a quiet village just over a mile from Trogir and 16 miles from Diocletian’s Palace in Split. Water taxis are available just below the hotel to Trogir. However, if you fancy just lazing by the pool taking in the incredible sea views from your sun bed whilst reading a good book or if the occasion calls for it – doing nothing, then this is the perfect spot for you! If you feel like working off any excess energy then you can always head to the gym before being pampered in the spa with a well deserved massage.
Trogir was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1997 and is home to a number of fascinating historic sights, the best of which is the Cathedral of St Lawrence. Building work started in 1213 and the main part of the cathedral was completed in 1250. You can climb the cathedral’s bell tower to see far reaching views from the top. A must-see within the cathedral is the Chapel of St John, built in 1468, and which is considered the best Renaissance sight in Dalmatia.
Part of the old city walls can be seen today on the southern side of the city with the City Gate dating back to 1593.
There is also the cobbled streets to explore that lead down to the wide seaside promenade lined with bars and cafes for you to enjoy.
Needing a break from the sun and sea? Why not head to the city of Split for a spot of sightseeing and culture or take in a river cruise along the spectacular Cetina River with its magnificent canyon and enjoy lunch at an old mill. The Dalmatian Coast has over 100 different islands to explore. Perhaps take a boat trip to Zlarin where no cars are allowed and traditions are still a part of everyday life.
Hotel Ola is an Adults Only hotel cut into the rock face of Seget, located just outside Trogir. Hotel Ola is a modern hotel that promotes rejuvenation by spending time outdoors, taking in your stunning surroundings.
Facilities include an outdoor pool and terrace with sea views, an indoor pool, gym and spa centre, restaurant and bar.
Our contemporary rooms come with a balcony offering sea views, air conditioning, flat-screen TV, safe, minibar, hairdryer, bathrobe and slippers and WIFI.
Please note this hotel is situated on the side of a hill and has many steps around the property and may not be suitable for people with mobility issues.
Only local currency (Kuna) or credit card payments are accepted in our hotel, in local restaurants and excursions.
Transfer time from Split airport to Hotel Ola is approximately 20 minutes.
You may wish to take an optional excursion during the course of your stay. Full details will be given at the Information Meeting. All tours can be paid for in local currency (kunas) or Euros. Your Tour Leader will help arrange these for you but may not necessarily accompany you.
Please note the cost of the water taxi from the hotel to Trogir is €3 each way and it goes every 30 minutes in high season and every hour in low season.
Casual, cotton, lightweight daytime wear is the order of the day. Comfortable shoes are a must for sightseeing. Smart casual clothes will be ideal for the evening, with the emphasis throughout being informal but with no shorts or vests in the restaurants in the evenings. Early and late season evenings can be cool so do ensure that you take a cardigan or jacket and even some rain wear.
There is often confusion on the question of gratuities, since it frequently depends on the type of holiday, location and, of course, your attitude towards tipping, as to what is normally expected. In order to give you a rough idea, we have given appropriate guidance below.
Your Tour Leader will be on hand to offer advice or suggestions if required but gratuities are offered entirely at the sole discretion of the individual. We suggest a group collection to cover drivers, porters and hotel staff of €20.00 per week. Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, or taxi fares, your Tour Leader can advise of an appropriate add on.
