The beauty of Bansko
Set in the foothills of the majestic Pirin Mountains, the charming resort of Bansko offers the fantastic combination of well-groomed pistes and a great snow-sure record. Add this to the wonderful atmosphere of its old town -beautifully preserved through the centuries, with its quaint cobbled streets, now a UNESCO World Heritage site – we certainly recommend a visit.
One of Europe's top ski resorts
With its efficient and modern ski infrastructure, lively Bansko is now widely regarded as one of Eastern Europe’s top ski resorts, and with costs at a fraction of what you would find elsewhere, it offers an excellent, affordable alternative to a ski holiday in the Alps.
As one of the biggest ski areas in Bulgaria, the pistes are easily accessible by a network of modern lift systems which whisk us up to the wide tree-line slopes. The 2 main ski centers – Chalin Valog (1100-1600m and Shiligarnika (1700-2500m– are both located above the town and accessible with the Gondola lift. Beginners are kept busy on a number of runs including the exciting 7km Piste Bansko or the bright Slope Plato 1 with its stunning views. Intermediates are certainly not forgotten with Slope Banderitsa or the two part Piste Todorka.
Suitable for beginners & intermediates
The resort’s ski school has an excellent reputation, with plenty of blue runs for beginners to practice on for those who have only skied a couple of times. For intermediates, there are plenty of well-maintained, wide, picturesque runs to enjoy and a number of bars and restaurants by the slopes to recharge your batteries, unwind and rest after a fun day on the slopes.

Après Ski
As the night draws in, the après ski takes over. Mainly centred around the local ‘Mehana Inns’ a friendly local restaurant, here we can relax, take in the live entertainment and perhaps sample some local specialities or visit the lively bars and clubs in the downtown area.
This cracking resort has more to offer than just skiing. Why not swap ski boots for skating, snowmobiling or a trip to the historic old town for souvenirs.
